Mustard.
Spicy mustard if you're feeling wild.

a hotdog never gets old for me at a ballgame or from a street vendor ... never did try lots of toppings i like either chili and onions or just relish but always with yellow mustard ... a dog in a bun with mustard straight from the campfire is hard to beat
when i have leftover hotdogs i cook them in beans for homemade beanie weenies ... as for recipe ideas i bet if you google it you could get a hundred of them

Chicago style
Applegate Farms, Boar's Head, Nathan's, and the wieners from Kreuz Market in Lockhart, TX are the best around for hot dog applications.

Carolina style: Spicy beanless chili topped with a finely minced slightly sweet slaw (like chick fil-a type).
I like Boar's Head kraut and Boar's Head Spicy mustard on a grilled Hebrew Nat'l dogs.
Chicago dogs are awesome!

1. Use a Hebrew National big dog.
2. Grill it.
3. Some of my favorite toppings are...
-spicy mustard, onions and sweet relish
-Chicago style with yellow mustard, peppers, dill pickle and tomatoes and onions.
-chili and cheese and onions

favorite topping..
look for Skyline Chili in the frozen food section. top with chili, finely grated cheddar, and onion. A little Tabasco and you're set!
Oh, and try to "steam" the bun a little so it's soft and warm...

and when I really get the craving for a coney, it's easier to just settle for frozen than try to order online.
I will, however, try to remember to get some and keep it in house stock for such coney emergencies!

Are you stuffing your own casings, or looking for toppings?
Buy your buns at Fresh Market. Split the top like a lobster roll.

Batter and deep fry and toss with buffalo sauce and top with blue cheese. Put on a toasted bun!

Cook it on a griddle, serve with spicy mustard. Use nathans or Hebrew national. You get a snappier dog on the griddle than on the grill/boiled/etc
