Yea, right on with McGuire's. I just went there about 2 weeks ago. I like it alot.

I haven't tried Landry's but I know what you are talking about.

McGuires is spot on in both P'Cola and Destin
Hemmingway's on P'Cola Beach is nice
Pegleg Petes and Surf Burger are good lunch spots on the beach

in Destin, try Harbour Docks, Destin Chops, and Louisiana Lagniappe for dinner

Also, if the Boathouse in Destin is still open, great gumbo and oysters on the deck on Destin Harbor...

In Fort Walton, Old Bay Steamer is pretty good...

Landry's is a chain (and not very good)

In Pensacola If you are looking for a “nicer” place I recommend the Fish House in the downtown area...

If you are looking for sort of a "local favorite" try Jerry's Drive Inn on E. Cervantes..great "burger joint"...

Definitely avoid Landry's. They are based out of Houston and their low end restaurants (Landry's is one of them) are pretty bad. These are the same people that brought you Joe's Crab Shack, although they were able to sell it to some greater fool.

Bayou Bills and Stinkey's Fish Camp in Santa Rosa Beach which is just east of San Destin are both good.

Old Bay Steamer FTW

23 bucks and i ate my weight in steamed snow crab, king crab, ruby red shrimp, muscles, and clams...plus they have yuengling

there's a place in Navarre Beach called "Bayou Bob's", seems like it'd be really gross but we ate there on our way out once and it was freaking delicious...probably the best etouffee i've ever had...the owners are actually from lafayette FWIW

If you are staying in a place in Pensacola and have a kitchen available, I suggest going to Joe Patti's to buy some very fresh seafood.

Went to Pensacola last summer and visited McGuire's and Dharma Blue.

McGuire's was pretty good but didn't quite live up to the hype.

On the other hand, the GF and I both thought Dharma Blue was fantastic. We'll definitely go back next time we're in the area.

Gulf Breeze, born and raised here.

The beach Sideline and Peg Legs (good oysters) are good both are own by the same dude so pretty much its the same food.

Gulf Breeze - aint much there JAMBALAYA's is pretty good.

Pensacola - Blue Dot in the ghetto of Pensacola but best burger I have ever had, try Jerry's Cajan on 9th Ave near PJC.

Now that you leave in Gulf Breeze goto Joe Patti's as often as possible, fresh seafood at a great price.

hope you enjoy the Panhandle

Probably not a lot of people that are planning on cooking in the area, but a great suggestion nonetheless.
