In order to get a better field it may be beneficial for it to happen 3 weeks before Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup. Seems to me that it would draw much better field, give those participating in those events a great opportunity to feel the pressure.
Now the negatives, blazing arse heat if it’s continued in New Orleans for both players and fans. Solution - let them wear shorts and tee off either early AM, or 1-2pm start time and play into early evening. Also limit the field size to 100 players at 10 minute interval's off 1 & 10.

It’s getting a new earlier date according to dudes in the know.

Years ago at English Turn and perhaps even at Lakewood it took place in mid to late March. After Mardi Gras and before the Masters. That may work if the Tour doesn’t put it in between multiple signature events as it did this year.

Those events are the playoff events.

When it was the tune-up for the Masters in the 90’s at English Turn, everyone showed up. It’s a shame they moved it from ET and the date.

They need to just turn it into a fall series event with up and coming Korn ferry guys.

8 of the last 9 winners were on the Ryder Cup or President's Cup teams. Elite golfers win this event. This isn't a mickey mouse tournament for the minor league.

The winners are elite because the field is so poor. Fitz was the only top 30 player in the world and the only reason he played was for his brother.
The LIV event at City Park will have a better top portion of the field than this gimmick that draws nobody.
It was a great finish and story for the Fitzpatricks and the Zurich and other sponsors go all out, but unless changes are made or get better dates this event is dying fast.

Forgot Griffin but he was there to defend, not likely back in 27.

The defending champion Ben Griffin was in the field and he's 16th.
The crowds are have gotten bigger each year, especially last year with Rory winning the Masters. Rain and Jazzfest kept a few people away this year but the major ticket packages all sold out once again. Not sure where you're getting your information

Heard some talk about it this weekend. Zurich met with the tour about the issues, hopefully they have enough clout to either move up in the schedule or get the tour to not sandwich the tournament between two Signature events.

That would be amazing. I’m speculating here but it seems like Zurich is one of the better sponsors on tour so hopefully that happens.
I’m seeing a lot of people saying they need to just go to 4 rounds of alt shot but I think that would actually turn off players. Alt shot is a real grind and they need a break from that in between days. I don’t know if the fourball is the best option though.
Even with how good yesterday was I kept thinking just imagine if this was a stacked leaderboard.

If they were to change the format, I’d rather 4 days of best ball over 4 days of alternate shot. It’s fine as is, though.

I was there two out of the four days. I think the Thursday round could be a two person scramble. See some really low scores and creative shots from the pros I'm sure.
Stick alternate shot on Friday before the cut. Fourball on saturday, Alt on Sunday.

Scramble would be a ton of fun.

He’s sponsored by Zurich.
