It is odd they scuttled the VP first... then again, I'm sure Vance is far more agile than Trump and can simply move faster.

Security was absolute shite at the event all around. Secret Service has failed Trump multiple times now.

JD’s detail is smaller than Trump’s. For the president, they shield in place until the two (sometimes more) shooters get between the president and the threat. Once the shooters are there to provide cover fire they move POTUS.

Ehhh… it looks like they secured him in place and only moved him when they had the personnel to completely surround him. They may have needed until the location they were moving him to was cleared.
Had there been shots fired inside the auditorium, there would certainly have been a different, much more aggressive response.
Had a gunman opened fire as they were moving Vance he would have been vulnerable standing on the stage.
They really should have podiums and any seating areas have ballistic shields (non conspicuous) leaving a much smaller target and a space to duck into for cover. They could even have spaces along the pre planned route.

Vance isn’t 80 years old. Age makes a huge difference in one’s agility. Trump appeared to fall face down as they were moving him away with the human body shield.

The agents are running a playboook, no different from football. Specific agents are assigned to the President and Vice President. They are taken through different routes and taken to different places, all to ensure that nobody can take out the command structure with one incident. The speaker of the house and the Sec. of State are part of the same playbook.

The video from the front shows one...pretty large guy...standing directly in front of the table in front of Trump. He did not have a problem being the shield until the rest arrived to lead him off.

There was no security screening outside the venue. Only outside the ballroom. Outside the ballroom there were metal detectors, but nobody was even checking IDs. This is according to Kari Lake.

Driving home late last night listening to the news, all I heard was them gushing over SS and what an outstanding job was done. The dude should have never gotten close to where he got. Fail. SMH.
