Might as well

The current democrat stronghold district literally can’t be any worse and is a decaying carcass on the side of highway 61

Southeast MS must be really white to tote Jackson so easily. Those are nowhere near as ridiculous as IL for example.

No. Virginia’s current districts are a 7-5 Dem split. The move they’re trying to make would make it an 11-1 split.

VA’s move flips 4 seats compared to MS only flipping 1 seat.

11-1 in a state thats roughly 52-48 split. At least MS is redrawing the districts in a way that is geographically somewhat square and not gerrymandered to hell to achieve their results

True but a different congressman won’t fix that issue. Not as long as the delta towns keep being run by imbeciles

How is R: +20 being calculated here? Our state is normally upper 50s in the presidential election so overall being about +16% over the past seven presidential elections. How is everyone of these projected seats greater than the mean?

I object to gerrymandering on either side

Breaking up the Delta? Splitting the Gulf Coast?

No

What is your cause for concern? You were okay with gerrymandered district so Bennie Thompson could have a seat?

Zero democrats care about gerrymandering so long as it benefits them politically.

Oh absolutely.. I was being VERY reductive to the overall issue but clearly after 50 years of democrat representation ( looking at you Bennie…). Why not change it up? The definition of insanity and all.. look where being staunch Democrat has gotten that area

the gerrymandering was including the northern tip of Jackson. That was wrong.

The Delta should be its own district. If it gets a black rep, so be it.

We're entering Two Wrongs Make A Right territory, which I generally try to avoid.

Undo the gerrymandering in CA VA IL etc. Eliminate voter fraud. Deport all illegal aliens. That is the way,

I don’t typically support gerrymandering on either side but if it fricks Benny Thompson then I’m all for it.

But isn't VA really trying to combat the population loss in blue states that inevitably causes those blue states to lose seats?
