Ranked 8th in the country and didn’t even make the cut at the SECs right now

Last year was top 5 and didn’t make it out of regionals. Is it just true random Golfness or is it we are good with individual players and don’t have depth for when the team scoring events start?

I can’t believe the man who knows everything and has all the answers is asking us for our opinion

I mean I looked though. It’s extremely rare for a top team to not make it out of regionals and even more rare for a top team to not even make the cut at the SEC tournament

And for it to happen back to back, it doesn’t actually seem like that’s “just golf”

Hence why im asking for guys plugged in . Is it a course thing or team makeup or just horrible luck maybe?

The coach seems awesome as he turned around the program immediately

The LSU Golf Team is currently below the cut but are still playing today to try and get above the cut.

You should read Amos’ comments on the team on the latest lsusports article. He seems very open about the team not giving a shite and not showing any emotion despite being talented.

no beuno

Would make sense why they do well in the tournaments that are just individual and not so much when it’s only counted towards the team

So the golf team is a mirror image of the baseball team. Got it

It's unfortunate the linksters can't make it further than they have in recent years. They are rated high and the coach has brought in the talent, it appears.

Hopefully, next year will be their breakthrough year. Hope so!

The SEC tournament isn’t scored any differently than any other tournament during the regular season. There isn’t any difference in individual vs team incentives.

3 players out of our 4 countable scores each had a double bogey. In round 1, we had a countable player with 1 double and in round 2, we had 2 doubles for countable golfers. We might finish 9 shots out of the cut. If those 6 doubles were pars, we finish inside the cut line. If those were bogeys, we would miss the cut, but would be closer. You can't have double bogeys at this level, much less count 6 of them in 3 days.

Agree, but now this is back to back years where we lay an egg when it matters most.

Jake is well thought of, but no coach at LSU is safe forever without performing on the national stage. Top 10 rankings and early exits isn’t going to cut it.
