It's a good pick. we didnt move up to get Reese which is the only other thing that wouldve made an impact where we picked.

People wouldve been livid with Bain. We take arguably the best WR in the draft instead of the 8th-10th best in the 2nd.

Biggest upside of all the WRs.

Downs would have been the best pick. Hes a difference maker. And would have given the DC some freedom in play calling.

I wouldnt love a Safety pick there. It would have been a decent pick but less upside.

How quickly people forget who our starting WRs were at the end of the year last year. This was an absolute NEED.

I don't disagree with that, but good safeties are relatively cheap in free agency. Great receivers are very expensive.

WR is a huge need. But picking an often injured WR at 8 is a huge risk. Whereas the top Safety was sitting there to be picked.

Horrendous value taking a safety at 8 overall. Hes great but he’s also not about to take over a football game like Tyson likely will in some games. It was a great value to take Tyson. Had it not been for the injuries he’d have NEVER fallen to 8 . And it was our biggest need . And I’ll say it again ..we went 6-11 with the 9th ranked overall defense. That screams through a megaphone that WE NEED OFFENSE

In a draft with real WR talent he'd had been a mid-late 1st round WR

This works both ways.

This BS is so staged. I can guarantee you that cowher has no idea who he even is, much less has seen him play. The production guys just put in his ear ok it’s your air time Bill, so act really excited and we’ll feed you the lines. It’s just pathetic. You think Cowber is sitting around doing draft prep? Hell no.

All of the Espn stuff is. Those guys have all the stats pulled up for them on every topic. They aren't researching anything. It's already laid out before the show starts. They're just talking heads.

Hines Ward was his coach retard. You think Cowher doesn’t know the top 10 picks in the draft?

I’d say that for some analysts for sure. I think the former coaches/players do keep up with stuff like that, Cowher loves football and knows at least the high end guys in the first round.

This is a really stupid, cynical take. I guarantee you Cowher is a professional and prepares as such for his multi-million dollar gig with the network.

You mean the safety with a knee issue?

It's weird so many people harp on Downs who CURRENTLY has a knee issue, but then complain about a receiver who is currently healthy.

it's a WR league with the rules against DB's
The Saints had to get better at WR from this draft and they did
Tyson just needs to stay on the field, similar issues with Shough coming in and his injury history as well
Lance is the developmental piece but if he translates to NFL look out

I'd bet he doesn't. He might know something about Tyson because of Hines Ward but it stops there. He's on CBS because of who he is. He gives his opinion on a few things but the majority is already written for him.

Same with Howie Long, and friends on Fox, Stephen Smith etc on ESPN. They are reading from a screen the vast majority of the time. They got the job due to their personality and who they are. Not for what they know.
