Let's see.......Spirit is failing, so we the taxpayer are going to save it from itself . It's not too big to fail. If they can't make it without government help.....without taxpayer help , let it fail.

We are supposed to be a free market economy in this country. This smacks of socialism.

Bailouts, promoting FISA, war in the Middle East. Is he trying to be George W. Bush?

30+ trillion in debt, borrowing 50 billion a week (doesn't include Iran cost), and he's proposing to borrow more to bail out broke spirit. Makes zero sense but not much has lately.

It's W all over again.

Why would we save "Ghetto Airlines"? What would be the point?

Better that they do that . Go Chapter 11 and see if reorganization does the trick. No bailouts or taxpayer ownership.

The assets don't just magically go poof if the US government doesn't buy them.

They declared bankruptcy already last year. This would be them doing it again. It's done, it's over -Vince Carter

Trump would do a better job selling them than Spirit

Just let Spirit sell those assets off to offset their issues

Please buy it. Last thing we need is the spirit airlines customer trickling up to the next tier.

Trump bought the east coast shuttle from Eastern airlines. Trump Air. I don't think it lasted that long.
