Odds on Curiel returning next year?

I’ll probably get down voted or that I’m retarded, but genuinely asking.
I think if he goes in the first round, there’s less than a 1% chance he comes back.
However, if he slips into the 2nd or even 3rd, being that he’s a draft eligible sophomore, I could see him coming back as a junior. He won’t lost leverage, and could work him way up to a top 10 pick. Especially if pro teams are worried about his power #’s being an OF. Just a thought. You’re gonna need a heartbeat in the lineup for next years team regardless. Here’s to wishful thinking that it’s Curiel

I think he’s absolutely gone. However, I do think an extra year of physical development could make him some money. It’s not an unreasonable thought. Have an upvote.

He has leverage if he stays. Depends on how much money he gets. I could see this being 50/50. He can stay, grow more development wise, and make more money next year. He's only a sophomore. Milam and Brown are gone they lose their leverage. Only way Milam stays is if he loves the college game.

I think the chances of him coming back are 0% but I did recently see a mock draft that didn’t have him going in the 1st.
Then I saw another having him in the top 25.
I don’t see what coming back would do for him.

I don’t totally disagree with this idea, but I have yet to see Curiel mocked lower than 15th overall.
Edit: 18th overall.

He still has things to improve upon. He’s not MLB ready. The closer he can get to being MLB ready, the higher he will get drafted. The higher he gets drafted, the more money he makes.

Like everyone said here , "he could use some more development"and thats correct. Thats exactly why they will pay him to leave. An MLB team would rather him be developed asap under their watch. All Tigers are all gone not to mention next season is rat poison most likely. Whomever has a chance to go, is gone.

I think he’d have to fall out of the top 75 picks for him to turn down the draft.

If he doesn't go in the 1st, I could see it possibly being 50/50, but if he goes in the 1st, he's gone. His NIL isn't bad, and is somewhat competitive the draft landscape.

And he turns 21 in May. If he returns, he’ll be 22 when drafted and only get about 5 weeks of pro ABs since the signing deadline is August 1. That puts him turning 23 one month into his first full season of pro ball and something his agent will likely advise against.

You could be right, i just think mlb will want to finish any development he needs so they will pay him to go.

Yea I get all that. But there is no guarantee that he becomes more MLB ready and in fact it’s possible that he doesn’t show the improvement after a 3rd year of college and hurts his draft stock.
I would love for him to come back and have a Charlie Condon type season and go 1st overall but I just don’t see the risk/reward working in LSUs favor.

I don’t disagree I’m just responding to you saying “I don’t see what coming back would do for him”. It’s simple, he could improve his draft stock and make more money.
