Awesome - I liked the direction the new CEO is taking

Microsoft has dropped the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 per month to $22.99 per month, while PC Game Pass is being reduced from $16.49 per month to $13.99 per month. Both changes are effective immediately. Meanwhile, new Call of Duty games will no longer be included as day-one releases in either service, and instead will be added "during the following holiday season (about a year later)," according to Microsoft. Call of Duty games that are already part of any tier of Game Pass are unaffected by this change.

They should cut some of the Fortnite crap and get it to $19.99.

The numbers mustve been pretty bad for them to take this drastic change.
I think it was 15.99 last time i was subscribed and when they upped i I just bought the 2 or 3 games i was using it for.

They've lost a TON of games. The PC Game Pass included with Ultimate is a ghost town, I un-subbed probably 8 months ago.

People laughed at her because she's an AI exec and admitted she wasn't big gamer but it seems like she's off to a good start

that was short lived.

Works for me. I only play COD for the single player campaigns so playing them a year later is just fine.

If they would drop OG blackout on Game pass and at least get a few weeks of numbers up that would be something.

$300M of lost sales will do that to a mf

So they are basically admitting that Game Pass is a failure. ok
I do fear for the approximate 1/3rd of the gaming industry they acquired over the course of their crash and burn.

OG blackout
i tried playing that a few months ago... Warzone has spoiled me. there's an actual skill requirement to play that game.
it's not cross-platform and i've never seen more steady aiming from playstation controller players in my life.

I guess, if we wanted to take the dumbest possible reading of this news. Sure.

Completely agree with this. Adds no value to the subscription.

Remember when Microsoft bought Activision and we all thought that all of the older CoD games would be playable again through game pass with full on dedicated multiplayer. Good times.

Remember when they released Modern Warfare 2 Remastered but only the campaign? We should have known better.

RUMOR | “Microsoft sources tell me that a pick-your-own-plan formula for Game Pass is on the cards”
Microsoft sources tell me that the longer-term goal for Xbox Game Pass is to make it more flexible. A sort of "pick your own plan" formula for Xbox Game Pass is on the cards, essentially, where users can effectively decide what packages of content they want to see as part of their plan.
Microsoft has leaked "Duet" and "Triton" codenames for Xbox Game Pass via its back-end APIs recently, suggesting that packages of services are in the plan's future. Don't want Xbox Cloud Gaming? Remove it and lower the price. No need for Fortnite Crew? Ditch it and add day one Xbox games. Perhaps you can roll in World of Warcraft or Minecraft Realms subscriptions instead, or even other benefits like Netflix, per rumors, or the long-awaited Xbox Game Pass Family Plan.

not surprising this came along. There was an internal memo leak a few weeks ago where she was attributed to saying game pass was way too fricking expensive.

Oh man I would be all in on this. Screw Fortnite Crew, ESO & WOW (I get addicted too easily to do MMOs), and Fallout 76. I'd probably opt for the Minecraft piece because my kids love that game, but dropping essentially everything else except for the games libraries is exactly what I want.
