Why are people so obsessed with Israel-Palestine?

They never care about Sudan and Myanmar. I don't think they even have heard of those crises, let alone care about them. If you ask most Americans (especially the type of Americans who go to pro-Palestine protests) where Sudan and Myanmar even are, most of them would probably guess that Sudan is the country south of Mexico, and Myanmar is two countries south of Mexico. They also never cared about Yemen when that was just a Saudi-Yemen conflict and Israel hadn't entered yet. (They probably would have guessed that Yemen is the country 3 countries south of Mexico lol.) And the Saudi-Yemen conflict was every bit as funded by US taxpayers as the Gaza conflict was. And, actually, the Sudan conflict is basically funded by the US, due to our funding of the UAE which in turn funds the RSF.
Yeah, I get the greater concern about the Iran War due to the US' really direct involvement in that, but these people were obsessing on Israel-Palestine (and no other conflicts) even before the Iran War.

My only concern with I/P is the $40 billion or so we've sent to our greatest ally since October 7th. They have free healthcare, free college, monthly child allowances and unemployment benefits.....that you and I pay for. I don't like Palestine and I don't like Israel. Get out the middle east and quit sending billion dollar checks to the most selfish and egotistical country on the planet. All this while blowing an entire race of people off the face of the Earth, in the land that US and Brits offloaded them into after WW2.
FTR, if both countries turned to glass tomorrow, I wouldn't lose a second of sleep. I can't wrap my head around why every person I know over 40 thinks that our only purpose on Earth to serve Isntrael. And frankly, none of them can explain it to me other than "they are God's chosen people."
If I remember correctly from my catholic school upbringing, God loves all his children equally.

As I discussed in my post, we were funding the Saudi war on Yemen, which people like you never cared about or even knew was happening until Israel was forced to also join that. Really, we’re basically funding the Sudan War, but people like you don’t care about that either.

People have heard of Israel, and even if they can't point at it on a map, know it's in the Middle East.
There are also just more Israelis and Middle Easterners in the US than Sudanese and Burmese.
There's for sure some antisemitism and Zionism involved as well.
