Fear of spiders

I’d rather be trapped in a house with 10 snakes than a spider. The more hairy, the more terrifying. And then you hear about those freaks keeping tarantulas as pets.
The scary part is there’s a high probability of one being around you at all times. Anyone have any encounters with black widows or brown recluses in the south where they’re abundant?
On the bright side we don’t have to deal with funnel webs or wandering spiders which are more dangerous and worse of all, hairy.

I hate roaches way more than spiders. It’s probably irrational but IDGAF!

If I see a spider or any other crawling insect indoors, I do my best to take a napkin and place it outside where it belongs...
Except cockroaches...
But also, generally speaking, my rule is that if it flies... it dies...
I would, indeed, hurt a fly...
Cool story bro, Recognizable Poster.

They should make a movie about fear of spiders.

I have come across several black widows. The most recent was in my rain gauge. They are suprisingly large and much more aggressive than most spiders.

You should still wipe them out though.

The only thing that bothers me with snakes is you usually don’t seem them until you’re right on top of them.
Spiders though? I’m still haunted from walking through webs as a kid and knowing that m’fer is on you somewhere.

You sound like my brother. I’m deathly afraid of snakes and he’s deathly afraid of spiders.
When we were teens we’d run yo-yos a lot for sac a lait. He’d go shake the branches to make the snakes fall off and I’d go tie the yo-yos on with the spiders on the branches.
My dad called us both pansies because he wasn’t afraid of either.

I wouldn't give a shite about spiders if they weren't venomous. I'm also nervous I'm going to reach on some shelf or in some box in a garage and get an abscess.

I have had several spiders get in my rain gauge and typically, they are hard to gett out….you have to turn it upside down and shake to get them out. However, with the black widows, she saw me through the glass and came out of the tube when I got near. I went and got some Bifenthrin to take care of the problem.

A couple of years ago we had an infestation of brown recluses. It was about this time of year. But this year the Fastcap Onslaught has held them at bay. No idea how they got in the house but I do live in a rural area out in the woods.

Did that not bother you? How did you cope with that?

I used to be hysterical about spiders and then I grew up and am pretty much over it
I don’t like them, but at least now I won’t scream and freak out if I see one .

Two years ago I left my pajama bottoms on the floor. When I put them on in the morning I saw one drop to the floor. A few minutes later I felt something crawling along my leg inside the PJs. Yes, you guessed it, BRs. I think I got tagged twice. My house is relatively new custom home on a lake in East Texas. It is worth a bunch. No way I'd leave. What I did was put out sticky traps and deluge the attic with Fastcap Onslaught. I then brought in a pest control company. Some sticky traps had twenty spiders. One day I went into the walk in attic and I saw a couple scurrying about. After all the spraying and cleanup in the attic, there is little evidence they are up there. Interestingly, the sticky traps with the most spiders were the ones I put underneath the bed against the wall. I've now lived in houses in Edmond Ok and Youngsville LA where I occasionally saw BRs. They move about in the dark. I rarely see them in the day.
I do not leave clothing like jeans or PJs that I intend to put on later on the floor anymore.

Spiders don’t bother me in the least but I’m not gonna knock anyone for being scared of them when birds freak me the hell out.
