He-Man is apparently about dealing with toxic masculinity, per director and actress

Finding their power: How Masters of the Universe created a He-Man and Teela for a new generation

Travis Knight:

quote:

Knight wanted to push back on some of the more toxic ideas of masculinity, and remembers, "Real men don't cry. Boys don't cry. If you express any kind of vulnerability, you must immediately punch a fence post to establish equilibrium...It was a really interesting way for us to explore these things that are happening in our culture, for us to compare and contrast what that stuff meant in the '80s versus what that means now."

Camila Mendes:

quote:

"It's hard to talk about Teela without talking about her relationship to her father, because I feel like so much of who she is has to do with how she was, I guess, let down as a kid," she explains. "And I feel like that really built this outer wall around her that's sort of like shielding this inner sensitivity. She's affected by toxic masculinity just as much as the men in the film. And I think she's sort of adopted masculinity to protect herself in this very masculine world. It's how she survives. She's in survival mode, and has been for a very long time."

Still holding a shred of hope that this turns out to be overstated bullshite like Chris Pine's interviews before Dungeons and Dragons

but for now:

Well... in the 80s we weren't a bunch of soft arse pussies with men walking around thinking they were chicks and chicks lopping off their tits because they thought they were men. So there's something to be said for "toxic masculinity".

For all the race and sexuality shite, the most obvious agenda in Hollywood the past decade has been it's extremely anti male agenda.

Apparently movies about toys are neo-feminism's new chosen weapon.

Weird.

Apparently it is about being gay

Or a metaphor for coming out

The new one, at least

The old one was just "I am He-Man with tits"

I originally had high hopes for this movie. Now, not so much.

They're going to ruin it with "the message", just like they ruin everything else.
