Will be in the area for a HS baseball playoff series at Mike Miley Park (W. Metairie Avenue I believe).

Looking for a casual sit down place for pre-game apps/drinks for Thursday afternoon, timeframe around 3-5 or so; and also recommendations for a sit down post game dinner Friday around the 7pm timeframe. Would like to stay close to the area of the Airport toward Miley park but open to all suggestions...

Thanks for any thoughts/information...

That's Amore Pizzeria is a few blocks away on West Met.
The Chicago deep dish or the NYC thin crust pizzas are really good.
The nearly frozen goblet of beer makes it even better.

Yes, the goblet is deep frozen and it makes the beer that cold

Mano's PoBoys is practically walking distance. PoBoys and Onion rings are on point.

I've never been served one with that much ice. Usually, it's perfectly cold with a few pieces of iced beer floating.

Several good recs so far.

Seither's also isn't far from Miley. Good food and may have music. Ground Pati also may have music. Rivershack is close to Ground Pati. Hobnobber is very close to Miley.

Pizza looks good, but that frozen beer, I’m not so sure about that. For a good beer, would it being so cold take away from the flavor, no?

I am anxious to try out the new Gendusa’s since they moved to the old Messina’s building.

Casa Garcia would fit your bill.

Thanks to everyone for the input and suggestions. We are leaning toward Harbor or Casa Garcia this afternoon and will leave it open for consideration Friday depending on times and such.

Someone had mentioned a place called Big Ez Seafood and Oyster House but I did not see that mentioned here? Any thoughts on that place?

Thanks again; and the Food Board always comes through with good info!

Comeback Inn is like a 2 minute drive from Miley. Good Food and $3 cold draught beers. Neighborhood vibe.
