I didn’t watch the whole presser but Dumars did mentioned the possibility of getting into the first round. The only way we do that is by trading Herb/Trey/Murray.
I don’t think it’s guaranteed we run it back. Dumars will make some type of move, likely with one or more of those 3 guys.

Exactly. That scares me more than anything. Dumars will put whoever takes over after he’s eventually fired in such a big hole due to trading additional picks to improve this horrible roster.
Every other GM is going to be chomping at the bit to be the next one to rip off Joe.

One is uber athletic but too short to play the 4 and the other isn’t athletic at all as a 6’9” C. Both seem allergic to playing defense and both need to put the fork down at the buffet. At least we have Fears……..

Regarding defense: Occasionally, Z will turn it on and play better D, but we have seen a large enough sample size from him and to expect any more than we have seen is setting us up for disappointment. Maybe if the games mean more, that changes, maybe not.
While Queen lacks the athleticism of Z, we have seen that he has quick hands and has caused a decent amount of turnovers, when in the right spot. He has good court vision (as evidenced by his assist numbers). The hope with him is that a year of training with DeAndre and getting in better shape and gaining a better understanding NBA D concepts and opposition tendencies, etc. will allow him to be in position more often and create more of those turnovers. He will never be a rim defender or lock down defender, but I think he has the potential to not be a liability and be somewhat opportunistic on D.

We're absolutely a lottery team with this roster. Fears and Queen would both have to take a huge step next year for us to be play in relevant.

Add 2,000 seats to the SKC . That should solve the problem.
