Is Rory now the best European golfer in history?

Matched Faldo's major wins at six, and Rory has the Grand Slam to boot.

I think Seve is better than Rory. Both have 5 plus majors. But you need a guy to be able to win you a match, who do you want?
I guess it is a preference, but I will take Seve for his shot-making ability and scrambling as well. But both are worth mentioning.

The pressure is completely off of Rory now. He's 36 years old. I wouldn't be surprised to see him win another, or even 2 more, if he stays motivated. I say he finishes as the best European ever pretty unanimously.

I'd put him above Seve, but then I'm too young to have seen Seve play.
Just for debate I'll also throw in Harry Vardon - 7 majors & 49 total wins.

Seve was 20-12-5
Not much difference there really

In the modern era, since 1934, Rory is the best.
Harry Vardon has the name of the most common way to hold the club and the scoring trophy for the tour is named the Vardon Trophy.
I’d say the Mount Rushmore of European golf is:
Vardon
Seve
Faldo
Rory

Seve’s shortgame//shot making defines European

Gonna give Seve the edge here

Based on past discussions on this board, I would've thought y'all would've said Ludvig Aberg
Let's be real, Rory can win 15 majors. The PGA and LIV both are deep, but nobody is unbeatable. Rory has the most talent out of everyone and his game and mind has matured as he has aged.

Vardon was a beast, often forgotten about because he played over 100 years ago and the amount of competition, but he still had to tee it up and win and win he did.

If Rory makes the short putt for bogey where he dbld, and the short birdie putt on 15, he waltzes in for victory.

Short putt?
Nothing is in the hole at Augusta.
It looked like 4.5 ft to me, I’ll look at their site.
They list it at 2 ft, but on video it look over 3 ft.
Hale IRwin whiffed a putt on the lip at the Open one year.and was in contention
2. HALE IRWIN, 1983 ROYAL BIRKDALE
A whiff, or an air shot? Either way, Hale Irwin was guilty of one of those in 1983 at Royal Birkdale.
In the third round at the 14th hole, Irwin went to tap in a six-inch putt with the back of his putter – but completely missed the ball.
We’ll let Irwin explain: “Went up to backhand a six-incher, missed it, finished second to Watson by one stroke. Careless.”

Baw, I'm not even a Rory guy, but he's top 3 in driving distance. He finally dialed in his wedges. He's putting well. And golf is a sport that you can compete until you are 50 in, especially with his length advantage. There are a lot of chokers he is currently competing with as well. It's basically Rory, Scottie, Old Man Rose and a bunch of chumps on Sunday.
Scottie and Rory are both getting at least 10-12

It’s clearly Rory all time, but if you want to extend to totality of career (including Champions Tour golf) Bernhard and his 120 professional wins with 2 Masters is in the discussion.

He could’ve played in 100 US opens in his prime and never would win with his crooked driver.

I'm going with Old Tom Morris.
If Rory wins an Open with a mashie, I may change my mind.
