Iran isn’t running a lawful blockade, it’s running an illegal protection racket in an international waterway. The U.S. isn’t “blockading their blockade” so much as we’re refusing to let extortion become the new law of the sea.
Iran has kept civilian passage conditional and tied to its own control claims and tolls, while the U.S. is now threatening interdiction of ships that comply and forcing Iran to react.
