What happened to very few commercials during the Masters?

For having few sponsors they cut to commercial every 15 minutes it seems this year.

The Masters and Augusta National as a whole have sold out. It’s inevitable with just about all that used to be sacred in the fricked up world that we now live in.

All started when they added a couple women as members

Bet Burning Tree is basically the same now as it was in 1960

The Masters (and golf in general) became the new “I’m gonna watch this and tell people about it so that they’ll think I’m refined, more high brow, and different than my friends who watch football” event. It was “cool” to like golf, social media helped it spread this sentiment. The sponsors, advertising space, and a deal too good for ANGC to turn down followed. Letting ESPN get their snouts in the trough hasn’t helped. Now we’ve got Jason Kelce.

Soccer and The World Cup has a similar phenomenon.

ANGC could tell ESPN no. They control everything

But note that ANGC is a for profit enterprise. Most private clubs arent. So at this point the membership has decided to profit.

Yep. Like I said the networks saw an opportunity for new sponsors for the new golf audience an offer was made that I guess was too good to turn down.

I mainly brought up ESPN because of the Jason Kelce thing
Just another MSBer with Kelce exhaustion and looking for a place to air it. It’s my cross to bear

I wouldn't be surprised if Kelce and Kevin Hart aren't back next year. That was turrible.

With Pat McAffee to complete the triangle.

It’s generally Sunday that they go commercial free/minimal for the final 9.

We need Martha Burke to protest again

I have also read they are skimping on the concessions.

Not only a boatload of commercials, but they keep replaying the same ones. I’m so sick of the young girl playing Jack Nicklaus

Who’s broadcasting the masters now? Is it ESPN or someone else?

After how many years of not having TV broadcast before 2pm on Thur/Friday, they opened up and let Amazon Prime broadcast earlier this year...

They have limited commercial breaks on the network but have creeped up a bit but they still only have 5 or so advertisers on the network..

Maybe its the crowd I hang out with, but I know way more people that watch golf than soccer.

And I agree Kelce was annoying. Him and Kevin Hart seemed so out of place for the family day.

I don't mind Marty and Laura Rutledge because they actually dress up and act normal. And I didn't mind the interviews with the Seahawks coach and Nadal. They acted normal.
