I know he’s probably set his sites on the draft however his hitting skills are not very good at this point I can’t see him moving up in the major league system even with the elite glove that he has he might wanna consider staying for his senior year just to try and become better at the plate although I know that is a real longshot

That would be an expensive decision for him

Commas and periods, baw.

In this new era it’s a possibility we can convince him with NIL to come back, but he has good enough tape and hits well enough to be selected pretty high.

For guys who will likely never make the MLB, it’s even more of a reason to leave early sometimes. Take the larger signing bonus while you can.

So much of hitting is the batting order. The guys around him this season are woeful compared to last season

Would come down to a decision between:

-leverage of being able to return so maybe drafted higher

Vs

-importance of improving offensive side of game for long term success professionally even if drafted a little lower

most will probably pick the leverage and drafted higher with belief they can improve offensive side as they work through minor league ball. So end up being correct and some not

He will be a high pick, and doesn’t feel like a guy that favors college over being a pro. His bat will be an issue as he makes his way thru pro ball, so you are partially right.

Well that explains the strikeouts last night.

Why would I give you decent pitches to hit if I have little or no concern about those around you?

He’s a helluva of a glove but no way is franchise going to go all in on a glove with no bat or power. They grow on trees around the world of baseball.
Dominican, Puerto Rico, Japan, USA teenagers. He is a great Tiger, a great college player, a National Champion but he ain’t no MLB shortstop. I love him by the way.

Switch hitting will provide him a little value also. Id say a 3rd to 4th rounder

I guess its not impossible but it'd cost us a lot of money. Not sure we'd be able to pay that

I’d love for him to stay, but there’s really just no advantage for him to do it. Unless he just really loves college and wants to do it another year.

So he will have zero leverage and basically sign for peanuts? He is gone because of the nature of the MLB draft. He would basically be doing what Gavin Dugan did. Gavin signed for 20K as a 6th round pick.

I'd say Brown and Milam are almost for sure gone and Curiel likely as well but he at least still has leverage to stay. Curiel MIGHT come back but I doubt it. He will be only a junior so he can do another year if he wants it.

I said this in game thread last night and got downvoted but all will see. One of his roommates gives pitching lessons at my oldest son’s travel ball organization. Milam has a torn labrum and is playing through the pain and getting shots. He is 100% coming back next season and I was told he’s getting 700k for next season.
