Never change AP. Anyone live near this shite show?

some saying the lights cause headaches and others defending the soccer field where children play

Dr. Michael Robichaux was served a temporary restraining order on Thursday, filed by the parish. He says he received an initial citation from Ascension Parish in February, saying he violated parish codes revolving around improper exterior lighting, unpermitted work, and using the property for commercial use in a residential zone.

Started out as a one team club several years ago. Turned into the best girls team in the state and one of the best in the region. But over time it’s morphed from one team training in his property to 7 teams actively hosting matches.

Once you install HS level lighting, it’s not hard to imagine the neighbors are pissed

Agree with OldManRiver. Add to that at the same time BRSC and Ascension Flight have been out to get Robichaux for many years because he takes all the best players and whips their asses year in and out. BRSC has also always been paranoid about losing their monopoly on soccer in Baton Rouge. They have contracts with BREC that allow them to basically control all the soccer fields in EBR. Someone like Robichaux just over the parish line with a growing club puckers their collective sphincter.

lol, you’re a moron. LA Force had one good team, his 07’s. He’s never had a team that kicks anybody’s arse after that. Our ‘11 team has routinely beat them.

Which is a shame, the club gets worse every year.

I'm not one to complain...
but if my home was 30 ft from a giant 90 ft light pole I'd be doubling down on Xanax at every hurricane or tornado warning

There is a ball park close to my neighborhood and right before it opened they left the lights on either turning them off late or I think they were on during the day as well.. I only noticed when I went outside, but apparently there were some people really pissed off about it and now they do anything to avoid having to turn them on.. despite the fact they will only turn on the lights to the field that a game is playing on.. I really don't know the whole situation, but I know people were mad and now they avoid turning them on if possible which seems silly, but hey.. Government is silly

He's got some up and comers that are beasts. Bu you're right, not every Force team is top of the chain, but his teams definitely perform at high levels and more importantly, he facilitates an environment where no kid who wants to train is left behind, feels involved and gets the most out of themselves. That's where the importance of how he runs the club comes into play. The wins and losses don't really matter as much as the adults believe it does.

I appreciate what he is doing but buy a piece of land in a properly zoned area.

Sorry but you can’t put up stadium lighting in a neighborhood. Doesn’t work that way.

I’m not claiming to know much but I was under the impression he owned a bunch of land and started using part of it for these purposes before all the neighborhoods popped up..

His facility was up well before the neighborhood. He donated some of his personal land to the actual development.

You say that like you know he hasn't tried. Or attempted other methods.

He didn't. The lights are on his land. He's not a part of the neighborhood.

His problem is that the area is zoned for those neighborhoods. While those neighborhoods were popping up, he was also expanding. A soccer field and facilities for a youth club team in AP grew into a huge sports complex with a bunch of teams and clubs practicing and playing games, soccer camps, adult leagues all using the facility, and paying money to do so.

I doubt anyone would have noticed or cared if the facility was a couple of fields for local kids to play their games.

People are such babies.

Pictures obtained by WAFB show a bright glow flashing through homes nearby. Some neighbors say they worry for their safety if one of the poles fell.
