Chevron in Pascagoula, MS is now importing 250K barrels of Venezuelan crude per day

The Minerva Gloria is docked at a wharf in the Mississippi Sound, not far from the US's vast oil reserves in the Gulf of Mexico.
The ship, 820ft (250m) long, painted navy and burgundy, is carrying precious cargo from Venezuela that, just six months ago, would have been impossible to bring to the US - 400,000 barrels of crude oil.
Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves. Under Venezuela's former president Nicholas Maduro oil exports had dropped significantly, due to a lack of investment. Then came US sanctions against any imports from the Latin American country.
But US President Donald Trump vowed to tap those reserves after the US military captured Maduro in a surprise, night-time raid in January.
Now the oil is flowing again in Venezuela. In March, the country's monthly crude exports surpassed one million barrels per day. The first time since September.
quote:
Chevron now imports the equivalent of 250,000 barrels of Venezuelan crude oil per day, on average, says Andy Walz, president of downstream, midstream and chemicals at Chevron.
"We think we can take that up another 50% so call it somewhere around 350,000 to 400,000 barrels a day of just the Chevron share of our position in Venezuela."

Remember just how wrong the 'experts' were about Venezuela
Only a matter of time until Iran is straightened out too, then Cuba, and then we take Greenland for good measure

The bulk of that crude is going to Houston (Marathon Galveston Bay). Will be great if the bulk of it is processed in America although they aren't liking the price of their raw materials @ $100
It'll come back down soon enough

As high as gas prices are, that graphic clearly illustrates that gas prices would be even higher if not for the increase in Venezuelan imports.
It's almost as if Trump purposely took care of Venezuela before bombing Iran, but there's no way Trump and his cabinet are that smart. It was purely coincidental, I am sure.

Citgo in Westlake is set up for heavy crude too. I imagine some will make it's way there eventually

I’m sure that’s all great for Venezuela. See the problem here is I don’t care about Venezuela .

Maybe Valero as well, but the bulk is going to Marathon. And also probably Marathon Garyville.

That's a very simplistic take
Good for the US, great for Venezuela, bad for China, bad for Russia, etc
There are worldwide ripples from Trump taking out Maduro

They are still dealing with members of the old regime so there isnt much change happening other than them playing ball to stay in power. We essentially created another strategic reserve

Afghanistan has the Taliban now because Afghans join the Taliban.
Venezuela has socialism because Venezuelans vote socialist, and they had a dictatorship because they had voted socialist for decades. They’ll continue to vote socialist because nothing about the population has changed.

Hard to be an expert when Russia pays for your opinion. Mecgregor sucks balls. 20 years in Venezuela lol wrong again. Still waiting for the Russian navy to kick US navy’s arse… hack

And a dictator and corrupt administration took over the government. I don’t think the Venezuelans voted for that. You forgot to mention that aspect.
