The Moon Griffon Show

Anyone here actually listen to this show on a regular basis? If so, how do you manage to do that ? I don't believe I have ever heard a voice that is as obnoxious as his. It is gravelly, whiny, grating, and coonass all at the same time.; As well as sounding like he got a shot of Novocain in his tongue earlier in the day. And they give him 3 hours of air time? There has got to be a better option for BR talk radio.
They say some people have a "face for radio", Moon has a voice for sign language.
Rant Over. Thanks.

Without Rush, it all sucks.

Yeah, I couldn't stand the voice so I stopped after one try. In radio it's called tight vocal chords. It's common among rural E. Texas accents...think Ernest T. Bass when he gets hyper. It's not part of the Cajun accent. But the accent makes it worse.

I tried to listen to him years ago. Just couldn't do it.

I've also heard it said as "A face for radio and a voice fit for print."

Let me add to that- takes for the garbage

I just leave my radio in my office on the talk station during the day so his show is on, but I don't often actually listen. I've heard just enough to know he's virulently against CCS, can't stand Cassidy, is highly skeptical of Letlow and wouldn't trust Landy as far as he could throw him.
He's much better now than he was when he was out of Monroe. The fishing reports and the inside jokes no one but he himself knows were monotonous.

There is, it’s called SiriusXM

Totally agree. I have tried listening to others, but he was the perfect mix of wit, sarcasm, humor, and info. There will never be another.

Whether you like him or not he does an honest appraisal and sometimes deservingly brutal assessment of Louisiana politics and politicians. Few in the media, are willing to dig in like he does of members of both parties. But if you don’t like him or his voice, I’m sure you are free to not listen.

His main value is an aggregator of statewide current events and the guests that he has on.
Yes to your points though. We’re talking about a political commentator who unironically called Europe a country multiple times the other day, and that one gaffe is just a drop in the bucket.

100% this.
I'll go to my death bed believing that the only decent replacement would have been Mark Steyn.
Despite the voice he was the best mix of biting humor/sarcasm and political insight outside of Rush.

Voice aside (didn't bother me much) Mark Steyn was the closest to Rush in these aspects IMO.
Too bad he couldn't get the nod after Rush's passing.

Would bet dollars to donuts that Moon posts here, probably multiple user names. There are a few areas where he knows his shite, but the problem is he gets away from his wheelhouse and becomes stale and kind of low IQ the other half of the show. He needs a sidekick how Johnson was to Walton, but stay away from a clown like Kenny.

Moon Griffon coonass
Moon Griffon is no where near a coonass. First off, his accent is not Cajun. Second of all, a true coonass says certain Cajun words differently than most people from Louisiana that think they're saying Cajun words correctly. For example, a coonass says A toufee not Et toufee. A coonass says Lah niappe not Land iappe. IYKYK.

I used to listen to Moon when I was younger. Now I see him as one of those people who tear down every political officeholder for not being perfect, at least by his definition. Ironically, like most of the rest of the chattering class, he's got all the answers, but would never run for office himself.

El Rushbo's passing was the end of AM radio
That's how much gravity he held
There never has been or will be such an individual. Truly they broke the mold when he got cast into this thing he poured his life into
