I'm beginning to think that they have recently peaked and are in the regression phase now. Skin full of tats and metal just doesn't do it for me, and for women to think they need these accoutrements to enhance their beauty says a lot about whether women today really are more attractive.
My opinion is that they were the hottest in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
