If Trump really put this out there, I am thinking we might be in a bad bargaining position

This seems like a post from a desperate man.
Maybe it was from a staffer who misunderstood what he was supposed to post?
This is not a measured and rational thought, it is panic
Which is not just a little bit concerning.

He made that when the media were being thrown off that the rescue was over.
I call out Trump all the time for his stupid gaffes and bluntness
This one was to keep the enemy from seeing what the other hand was doing...
It worked.

Or, just to counter your own panic…
perhaps since Trump has backed up his ultimatum’s, this is a warning to those in Iran that are not willing to negotiate.
They get to choose their path going forward.
On one side, it means internally redirecting Iran from being a state sponsor of terrorism. On the other, they can double down on supporting terrorists acts against the US…and pay the price.

What are you talking about, everybody on the planet knew we were trying to find and rescue that pilot, Iran was out there trying to find him too you know.

If we don't remove the regime then how do we remove them being a state sponsor of terror? The same regime will be in place.

It's not measured and rational - it is also not desperate

So you're the guy who ghost wrote Art of the Deal.
You are. You even acknowledged my spelling of "your" for "you're" to prove you understand English semantics. How many books on '
"wheelin' and dealin' have you written?

The Iranian regime views surrender not as a tactical retreat, but as existential extinction. By framing the conflict as a "sacred resistance," leadership has tied its survival to a decentralized military and an economy built to withstand isolation. Even with top-level leadership losses, the IRGC’s survival instinct and the state's asymmetric ability to disrupt global energy markets prevent a total collapse. Tehran calculates that by enduring high costs and suppressing domestic dissent, it can outlast its adversaries' political will, transforming a military disadvantage into a war of attrition that avoids unconditional surrender.
