Sometimes it's fun to think ahead.

It seems like Vance is the consensus frontrunner at this point, but things are always changing..

You better believe that there will be lots of jockeying for that point position in the coming years...

I wonder if DeSantis regrets blowing his load in the last cycle?

Let's gaze into the crystal ball and see what your opinions on the future are..

I haven’t been this excited for primary season in a long time.

It’ll be the first time we get to see these folks really be able to talk about what part of MAGA to leave behind or bring along.

“That person over there doesn’t agree with my superior positions and views; leave ‘em behind.”

“This one here is too ugly; leave ‘em behind.”

And so on and so forth. I can see it now. That discussion should work out well.

Perhaps some young leaders with new vision for America will come along. I thought trump was the guy but he stayed within the republican party. Big mistake. The GOP has ruined trump. Just like in England, New parties are emerging because there was no difference between labor and the Tories. I am tired of endless debt and endless war.

I’ve posted here several times that I don’t think JD Vance is ready to be president. And I’ve been a fan for 10 years. I read Hillbilly Elegy when it was published in 2016. He’s a smart, very talented dude, but two years as a senator and one term as VP just doesn’t season you enough. He’s only 42. I think Rubio has the chops and will be the favorite if he runs.

Agreed.

And here's the thing...at some point both will be asked the same question Kamala was asked on The View. What would you do differently? Unlike Kamala, they'd better not frick it up. That moment, more than anything, portrayed to independents and undecideds her utter incompetence, for two reasons...she said she wouldn't do anything differently, and she was completely unprepared for the question.

JD and Marco better be ready for that question. No matter how much they support Trump, they'd better be prepared to say how their administration would be even better. And in areas where they think Trump could have done better, they have to be prepared and willing to say that and not be worried about pissing off Trump.

DeSantis screwed the pooch by not being patient. He was really betting that the Dems were going to stop Trump from running. I like Marco or JD Vance.

Does it really matter? The president doesn’t run anything anyway.

In order to maintain our hegemony, endless war is part of the price I'm afraid.

But, clean up the fraud and we might be able to clean up the balance sheet.

The Democrats have a power vacuum right now.

No one among their hopefuls is actually successful.

Zero.zero chance he wins as Indy so it had to be done. As much as he pisses people off - including some within his own party - two things are true
1. We certainly didn’t deserve him
2. The next torch bearer will not be as aggressive nor forceful and that will put us back to status quo

Honestly, I am not worried about the Republican depth chart. GOP has a ton of talent as was noted in this thread already, that could continue with the current policies if they wanted to or campaigned on. Vance and Rubio are at the top of that list.

Democrats are struggling to find anyone to pick up their banner and go with it. It's just their policies are so out of whack with normal common sense Americans that anyone they select can't campaign on their positions and policies. Only Trump sucks.
