Anyone else think this is the best topping for a burger?

I like deluxe, mayo ketchup lettuce tomato pickle onion, on a tasted bun with two smash cheese burgers. They work in harmony together.
Raw onion only on a hamburger sounds like something a serial killer would eat after he kills.

While I like that too, it doesn’t only have to be raw onion. But I do think raw onion on a burger is the best topping of them all.

In n out does this. Yes it's good.

Yes, but only white, for the crispness and acidity matches the fatty patty best, unlike the purple or yellow.

So I guess the only fair test would be, what burger would you eat only one condiment/topping.
For me that would be ketchup probably.

I was excluding cheese obviously.

Ok, if that is included, I think raw onion is next.

Do you even fava bean, bro?

It's up there as a main topping for sure. As long it's not to thick it's a great way to put onions on it. And not red onion.

Friend,
The worst burger I have ever tried, the Peter Luger burger, is a slab of medium rare minced meat with an enormous raw ring of onion on top. Between the Luger sauce and the onion, you would have a hard time forcing me to eat another bite of a burger there.
