They're going to let him figure this shite out until Moore comes back.

I think they should.

Cowan is less likely to be as effective 2 or 3 times through the lineup. Once they figure out his changeup, they'll sit on it.

Guidry's breaking balls are nearly unhittable even if you know it's coming, and he's throwing mid-90's now on the fastball. If he can get is curve and slider over the plate, he can be a very good pitcher.

Remember, he didn't pitch at all last year, and he had good control his freshman year. He can be a Ma'Khail Hilliard type of starter, if he can keep the walks down.

He’s started 2 games this season and they were terrible starts. Why force it?

Didn't you give up on the team in March?

Exactly what it feels like. He has been most effective in short stints, start a lefty. Let Plog or Williams go out and see what they can do. I also hate putting Guidry on the shelf until Sunday if there's a chance we need him before then.

I agree. And it is a little out character of Jay to show his cards if he doesn't need to.

Nope. They say it was a “triceps” issue. I’m not buying or believing we see him back at all until I actually see him on the mound.

That said, for that reason—Jay never doing anything that might give the other team even a tiny advantage—him announcing Guidry as the Sunday starter already is kinda baffling. I guess he can always pivot if he winds up needing Guidry during Games 1 or 2. But not sure what he gains by announcing Guidry right now. Oh well.

That’s definitely not true especially if he leaves it up in the zone and out over the plate. His curveball has been hit pretty hard lately. He needs to locate it and get it down in the zone.

Of course, except for those breaking balls pitched by Guidry that have been launched into Near-Earth Orbit.

They're not asking him to pitch a complete game. Just trying to get starting reps until Moore is back. Plus its good reps for post season.

He’s not. It very vague. That’s why I, personally, am not counting on him being a part of the ‘26 team moving forward.
