Two things about this scare me
1) Guidry has been very bad in SEC play so the idea of us relying on him is pretty tough
2) this feels like Cooper Moore is done. If Moore was coming back soon, I don’t think Jay would be converting Guidry to a starter. Jay would Johnny wholestaff a few Sundays. I hope I’m wrong but Jay knows you need 3+ starters down the stretch. He’s trying to convert Guidry mid season.

Starting Guidry is throwing Johnny Wholestaff

I'm certain Jay knows what he is doing.Judging from the past pull him after a second BB or smoked balls.

I will defer to the guy that is at every practice. The guy that studies tendencies and breaks down every pitcher on the team and how they matchup with opponents.

That very well may be what happens, but it isn't Jay's intention. Jay is extremely calculating. If Jay intended to go Johnny Wholestaff, he wouldn't be saving Guidry to start on Sunday. He'd be using Guidry to close out a close game today or tomorrow and maybe still having him Sunday for a bit. Jay would have whatever fresh arm he could use to be the opener on Sunday morning. Jay believes in Guidry as a starter and must feel like we need him longer than the fans realize. I am as skeptical as anyone, but I sure as hell hope he's right about this.

Guidry has a Great Amount of Value as a 1, maybe stretch to 2, innings Middle Reliever. He is not a Starter and he is not a Closer. Total Insanity and Stupidity to try and use him any other way. He is simply not comfortable and cannot get it done in either of those roles. Help the Kid out and let him do what he does very well.

Despite his recent struggles, Guidry is too important to the team (and Jay) not to pitch him Friday/Saturday so he can start Sunday and then yank him early when he walks 2 batters. Two weeks ago, Jay left Guidry in longer than he'd pitched in his career, and it cost us the game. Last weekend, Guidry struggled from the first pitch, and Jay left him in to let him walk 4, allow 3 hits, and hit a batter.
The only explanation I can think of is that we need a 3rd starter for longer than we realize and Jay feels Guidry is the best option.

Feels like 1-2 is our ceiling this series as I expect Evans will struggle again and Guidry in a small stadium as a starter is a nightmare.

Watch out General.
Some JJ arse kisser will call you a pussy.
Resorting to vulgarity when anyone questions him.

Why?

Why?
Because the few outings Evans has been "on" have been at home (outside of the Jacksonville neutral field game where he did ok). Hopefully he proves me wrong this evening!

Why do we seem to forget that he hasnt been able to make it thru 3 or 4 outs without getting into serious trouble giving up multiple runs or about to be. Seems like a bad choice. He hasnt executed once this season but yet Sunday starter? Wtf. Is Tenner that far down? Maybe he will get 2 good innings this time? Finally?

Hopefully Guidry is good for at least 3 innings.
