President Donald Trump is preparing to release a fiscal year 2027 budget plan on Friday that will frame his party’s midterm election message around a massive defense buildup, partially paid for by cuts to domestic agencies and health-care entitlements.

A governing vision that directs tax dollars to the Pentagon amid an unpopular Iran war represents a political risk for the White House, especially against a backdrop of spiking gasoline prices. Trump could also face resistance from within his own party over envisioned cuts to health and science agencies that Congress rejected last year on a bipartisan basis.

I’m sure working and middle class Americans will be delighted with more war and less healthcare. Winning message.

Trump has said he wants to increase military spending from 900B to 1400B.

What cuts equal 500B, which would be the minimum to cover increased military costs? DOGE found 200B in waste, and 193B of that was ignored, and continues to be funded.

It’s not the governments job to provide healthcare. How do you not understand that? It’s a pretty basic understanding of the government’s role

It’s their job to do whatever the people tell them. If they can buy aircraft carriers, they can fund healthcare, especially programs like Medicare where we actively pay into.

Good luck arguing that point this November. I’m sure it will go well for you.

Sheesh! They were already lobbying for 1.5 trillion dollars next year. What are they gonna bump it up to 2, 2.5? Are they gonna send comedian Pete back out there asking for $400 billion instead of the 200?

Good luck not understanding your reliance on government to provide your basic needs because you are either to lazy or stupid to pay for them yourself is bankrupting the nation at a far greater rate than the war in Iran lol it’s pathetic if you are a grown adult male

I have excellent healthcare fully paid for by my employer. It’s possible to do well and still hold compassion and empathy for others. Some might even call that being Christian.

Democrats will own congress and the white house in 2028.

And republicans deserve to lose.

So with all the veterans mooching the system, we spend 2 trillion on defense with this budget.

We get 2.4 trillion from income taxes, ya'll this is fricking retarded.
