Kinda surprised he said this. Basically that he has no interest in being a MLB manager at this point, but that the same time he hasn’t been offered a MLB job yet. Kind of implying that the interest could change should a team reach out to him. I could be totally off base, but to me this is almost him sending a message to LSU admin.

That ain’t great

Couldn’t hate him for it if he did go, but it would suck. Best case is Tony V falls on his arse in legendary fashion and spooks all the other clubs.

Yea seems like a slight April fools thing

Also Tony V ain’t doing so hot so I don’t think the mlb is going to make a habit out of grabbing college coaches

We also got rid of fat Scott so baseball should be in good hands

I’m not sure that MLB teams are making decisions based on a 5 game sample size of another team…

A far cry from him saying he'd rather coach at LSU than be the Yankees manager.

He's clearly not satisfied with LSU's commitment to being the best program in college baseball. Hopefully, that is rectified.

Wonder if this is part of his push to get the facilities he wants. Because like 2 years ago he basically said he wouldnt take the Yankees job over this one

It’s possible. But that’s the downside of having a great coach. Which makes it not really a downside at all.

He’s trying to get as much money as he can get from the new faces in the athletic department and I don’t blame him.

Fix the revenue share for baseball. I've been saying this.

Well it would be a taste of our own medicine. So don’t get comfortable in this age of modern sports

His agent coaches him to always leave some uncertainty.
MLB usually hires from within. Vitello was the exception.

Who wouldn’t want to be a MLB manager? That is the pinnacle job of his profession.

He’s competitive and he’s already won two natties here. It’s the human nature to start looking for what’s next. This doesn’t surprise me at all.

Guess he changed his mind after previously saying he had no interest in ever leaving LSU.

Wonder if that's a reason for this team's performance so far this year. Certainly seems like something is a bit...off compared to last year.

I think it depends on the person. He already once said that he’d rather coach at LSU than be the manager of the Yankees. Some people don’t like the travel of the MLB, others don’t like the recruit of college baseball. I think it varies.

I love Coach Johnson and would absolutely suck if he left for MLB, however every coach in America would be blowing up Verge’s phone to fill that spot. We would quite literally have our pick

Would not blame him for a second, and would be happy for him.
