Pretty heartbreaking, man.
He has to suffer for others
TLDR
One of his interesting points
Because movies are failing, big name stars are going to TV and eating up all the roles. Actors like him can't get work.

The strikes killed the industry. SAG and WGA made it too expensive to take risks and make more shows.
Things are barely even shooting in America. Take the game show THE FLOOR for example. They fricking fly every american contestant to Irleand, put them up, feed them. and it is cheaper than shooting on the fox back lot.
A GAME SHOW! just unreal what unions did to the industry.

On that same note, the new American Gladiators was filmed in France!

Filming occurred during summer 2025 at Aren'Ice in Cergy, France, the first time American Gladiators is filmed entirely outside of its national borders.[7]

He led one of the best seasons of Arrow.

I hate that for the guy. I really loved him as Joe Toye in Band of Brothers and, of course, his stint on Arrow in what might have been the show's last decent season. People need to realize that not every actor/actress in the business is a multi-millionaire living the high life in Beverly Hills. The vast majority of them are character actors who take the small, supporting roles that round out the film/TV series to make it "believable." And most of those take home pay more akin to the blue collar workers of our great nation.

It sucks but I rally can’t find any sympathy for actors or entertainers complaining about being unable to find work.

I hated his character in Kingdom.

Going to get worse when AI characters are introduced

It's hard for me to feel sorry for him, especially since SAG folks are digging their own grave with the strikes and such. I'd feel bad if he was having to sell his house due to sickness or legit inability to work but his reasoning is telling me he bought more house than he should have. If I lost my current job I could work at the hardware store up the road and cover all my bills. I don't adjust my lifestyle with my income, I'm living pretty much the same way as when I made 34k/year.

i heard there is a need for plumbers

he was great in the 12 Monkeys series as well
always liked him as an actor, i wonder if it will ever strike him that the rest of us middle class schlubs are facing the same realities, all because of policies he and his fellow liberal/progressive types enthusiastically support

He may not be Matt Damon or George Clooney but if he's makign over $100k (cost adjusted for LAX), he's mildly famous, I just don't see how I'm supposed to feel bad for this guy.
What he's dealing with is called "the problems we all have".
What if my biggest customer takes a hike on me tomorrow? What if I get hurt on a jobsite and can't drive to customers or meetings? What if my insurance premiums go way up? What if my industry keeps moving to China? What if I get hit by something like Enron?
Newsflash, I've had most of those things happen. I grew up in the rust belt when it seemed like every factory was moving to China for decades. The downhill slide started when my parents were kids and finally curtailed recently. It sucks. Get back to the grind.

Huh. It’s almost as if a bunch of YouTubers predicted this exact thing would happen!
Weird, weird.

Weird, weird.

Doesn't matter. His role as Joe Toye is one of the greatest performances of all time. Nothing will ever take that away from him.
