Movies are dying because of crap writing so movie stars are starting to do TV/streaming.
Sounds to me that the focus should be on the big studios greenlighting projects based on good ideas and writing rather than the social justice tick-boxes the SGA has been pushing.

It's hard for me to feel sorry for him, especially since SAG folks are digging their own grave with the strikes and such.
It's not really every actors' fault. They pretty much have to be in SAG or can never work in the US. When the union brass wants to do something, you have to fall in line or get blacklisted.
Most of them were lied to as well. They believed the changes they were fighting for would be for all but it only helped the top percentage. Politics is the same in all fields.

If SAG wasn't trying to protect actors from the onslaught of AI, no one would be. People dog on unions, but this is a case where the union is a worker's last best hope.

sure, I get AI protections. That was a minor part of the strikes last time. They jacked up all rates and fees and made it harder to make more shows.
There is a very clear path to follow from streamers pumping out shows pre-strikes to shows and films being more than halved and barely shooting in the US.
Kirk's story is just one of many. There are a ton of articles from writers' who have worked in the industry for 10+ years who can't get a show greenlit anymore and can't find work.

he's got two upcoming films one in post production where he's the lead actor. he's married since 2005 to kiersten warren. she was the girl standing on the skyscraper in independence day holding the sign welcoming the aliens right before they fired up the death ray.
here's another picture of her, i thought the board might like

Boo fricking hoo. He should have thought about that before pissing everything away by going on strike. Crew members are more fricked than he is.

between the two of them they have 120 acting credits and both of them have had several nice 20 and 30 episode runs in series that's a good career in hollywood for any actor.
if they're having money troubles it's not because they didn't make a lot of money

I wonder what the amount was that he mentioned when he said "I don't even wanna tell you what they're offering guys like me...it's not even a livable wage."
