I’m not sure how people blame it on not catching the ball with two hands unless the ball pops out of the glove…

Pretty sure using two hands was for when gloves were a lot stiffer and it was more difficult to close the glove around the ball.

Attention to detail? Second hand adds an extra level of mindfulness when receiving the ball into the glove.

Catching with two hands so that the ball is less likely to pop out, and giving the fielder less time needed to transfer the ball from the glove to the throwing hand just ain’t cool.

It reminds me of the Arkansas left fielder in last year's CWS.

I never understood the point of using two hands to catch a fly ball. I guess if you have a poor fitting glove.

Yeah they don't even teach outfielders to catch with 2 hands past like 10u. Limits reach.

Brain fart is a brain fart. Lose focus and you will miss it with 4 hands.

Has there ever in the history of baseball been a dropped fly ball that was blamed on using two hands?
