so after all kinds of acrobatics getting the shed in place, i didn't take into account it would also be "off" the ground so the front entrances in addition to all the gravel and landscaping rework required, will need steps and maybe a ramp. *sigh*

ok so here we go; no i didn't get barn doors on the back because i didn't realize how high off the ground they were going to be and that would just look odd anyway. so now that i have this beast; i have several "next" items and need your help

1. yes cgrand, i'm running a 60a to the shed. fight me. i am putting a panel inside for lights, ability to run a table saw and a small fridge & maybe a TV & AC for those times my wife kicks me out of the house (frequent)

2. gravel, concrete 'curb' to hold the ground in place around the front, and some type of outer 'skirt' (NO frickING LATTICE) i want it to look modern and nice.

3. stairs. i'm gonna measure, dig out (if needed) and build composite stairs for the doorway/porch. no idea what i'm going to do about those barn doors yet..just....NO frickING IDEA.

4. all that space on the side is either going to be a 10x10 concrete pad (for working with tools outside and/or a hot tub at some point. Concrete or just sink some footings and lay a composite deck over it?

yes i realize i'm going to have to move that entire flagstone/rock path and relocate it after i figure out the entry points.

so you see, here we go again.

the good news is the view is fricking FANTASTIC but i got alot of work to make this look like part of the property.

fun pics from the delivery

yes he had to drag it under the power line.

Turn it 180° and the ramp goes into the building. A ramp up that slope it going to be brutal.

Or move the doors to the back side.

2 more quick pics (and may help answer questions)

1. Why didn't you face it the other direction?

2. Where is your electricity coming from and where is your concrete pad going to be?

I plan to pull power through that crawl space opening. The breaker box is maybe 10 feet away from that inside the house.

Keep the doors on that side, but build a deck on that side you can haul tools out on to work with. Add doors to the other side for access without a ramp.

I’d do something about drainage sooner than later. While it’s not much surface area I can see it washing away part of your slope fairly quickly. The small roof area might be conducive to a rain barrel.

Definitely pouring a concrete foundation/curb to keep the erosion down.. Thinking of killing 2 birds with one stone by also setting a post on it to use for the deck the above poster suggested

It's the first thing I saw with that view. I'd spend more time on the elevated deck and looking for reasons for wifey to kick me out!

for sure. the more i think about it the more i love the idea; throw the barn doors open, drag the table saw outside and throw sawdust all over the deck & ground, hit it with a leaf blower, and bring the saw back inside clean

Yep.

Build a deck across the front and have the stairs on the side instead of coming up the hill

Beautiful property. I'm with the others. Add a mini deck for working outside and enjoying the view.

Visiting this again this morning:

Not only a deck on the barn doors side but wrap around to the house side, as well. Build it once and enjoy!

I think this goes without saying. I’m not sure what the point of a deck is otherwise

CAD 60a will be plenty, split it over four individual breakers (or one 30 and two 25s) and you’ll have ample for lights and fans/outlets. I’ve never tripped a breaker on my 60a carport/kitchen and it’s got four at 25a each breakers

My 2 favorite types of threads on TD are CAD home improvement threads and Tyga's Random Instagram Hashtags.

You guys keep me going on those slow days.

Just a thought, but maybe wrap that deck around the back side to higher ground, ending in a much less steep ramp to get things up and around to the barn doors much easier. or even angle it along the back side until it meets the ground.

Like I said, just a thought.
