What’s it like being an airline pilot?

Do you ever have stressful moments where you thought the plane was going to crash? Do you usually get along well with other pilots and crew? Ever enjoy the destination you fly to or do you have to turn around and leave right away? Does doing checks before takeoff become monotonous?

777 will be here in a few minutes after the stewardess finishes sucking him off somewhere over the Atlantic

Now we know where 777 will be all day

Do you have multiple wives & families across world living multiple lives?

Crew- “a wing is on fire”
Pilot- “hold on, I’m trolling the OT”

I know a guy that flies for JetBlue. He said it's very relaxed and chill for the most part.

Do you try to garble your communication to the cabin?

People ask you this all the time

I have a buddy that is a commercial airline pilot for Southwest. He's not married and has no kids and loves the lifestyle, but he's about to get married (2nd time) and they want kids. He's angling to shift over to the private aviation route. His soon to be wife makes a good bit of money so he can scale back a bit. Said being a single, young pilot (before his current relationship started) was certainly "fun" if you know what I mean. He's also a decent looking fella, which didn't hurt him.
He's said not once has he thought he was going to crash since taking his current job and the absolute worst part of the job is the passengers. Had to personally intervene a few times when they were belligerently drunk and/or aggressive toward flight attendants.
I always ask him about his job because I find it fascinating.

It's probably very stressful.
You have to wake up every day, determined to tell every person in the world that you're a pilot.

I feel like knowing what to say on the intercom would be a lot of pressure also. I feel I’d try to be too funny but nobody would laugh

Of course I am no pilot, but having flown a ton in the last few years i would think it is mostly routine. The cockpit of the airbuses that JetBlue uses appear to be very automated complete with just a joystick controller and no yoke. The plane probably flies and lands itself mostly if everything is going as it should.

This is why flying for fedex or ups seems like a much better gig

I'll bet he loves taking selfies. And staring at them.

Can't be any worse than being a vegetarian.

Yeah but I'd assume you're mainly flying late at night most flights.
