And it shows. Had to go bargain bin shopping and couldn’t get the best transfers in the portal

That's BS. These were some of the top transfers in the portal. Didn't he also have the number 1 portal and HS class?

Money is such a lame excuse for this.

There wasn’t a whole lot of talent in the portal this past season. Also the guys we did let walk off of last year’s team have all been productive at their new schools so there’s that

He’s nailed the portal in 3/4 years. Every program in America takes that. We just whiffed too hard this portal.

This is an excellent point, thank you. Ashton Larson for example has been good for Texas

Are you a Democrat? You can't just throw money at things and "hope".

who would you bench on this year's team for him?

Curiel, Brown, or Stanfield?

he wasn't staying here in his money year to platoon at DH

And fwiw, he's not an every day starter at Texas either. he has 40 Abs this year

This and the pitchers from last year just have not developed to expectations. Still so inconsistent.

Stanfield, all day long. He wasn’t that great even when 100%. Never clutch at the plate. Larson got some huge hits last year.

Agreed.
Would love to had Costello.
I liked Larson, but I don’t know how much time he’d be getting in the outfield…
