Waited 6 months for 3 hits against the Angels. The least amount of hits of any team yesterday
Game is on AppleTV tonight btw

TurdTV would be more appropriate.

You can't go 0-162 if you don't lose the first game!
The 0fer train has left the station. Y'all need to get on board.

Even the TV team has accepted our fate early.

Following this team for so many years with hope that they would finally accomplish something wasn’t that difficult. Following them in the same way after they have accomplished everything that you dreamed about as a fan is nearly impossible, I’m finding.

I mean, that's a very true challenge but it's the new "unclutch" nature of the offense that makes overcoming the challenge so hard. No one needs the consistent buzzkill of watching that.

I understand the championship or bust mentality of fans, and I certainly have it with other teams. I still had it pre 2022 with the Astros, and in the 2023 ALCS it seemed a window opened in a year I didn’t treat them as a real contender and I wanted them to go back to back so bad
I think any rational fan understands it would be a minor miracle if this team is a championship contender at the end of the year, but I think there are still some interesting things to watch. Burrows tonight and Imai Sunday are the main two for me. Yordan’s ability will always be another as long as he’s on the field, along with Peña’s consistent effort (assuming he isn’t dead)
But the mediocre middle they are kind of stuck in and the lack of dynamic young position player talent makes it tough. And consistently stranding runners is a dick kicking way to lose games.
So even if you don’t have a championship or bust mentality as a fan, I can understand the disinterest. I enjoy watching baseball enough that I’m still going to tune in and enjoy the parts that are good, but it’s tough to blame fans for being lukewarm on the current direction

Doesn’t help that the offseason showed ownership is clearly in wait and see mode. I think the lack of urgency on adding to the line up, extending Pena or Brown (or Espada and Dana) shows two things: (1) Crane thinks an extended lockout will happen next year and (2) if this team is middling, he could be willing to part with some of the soon to be expensive talent. So, Ryno and Wahoocs could get their wish and we’ll be watching this team get absolutely crushed on a weekly basis in 2027.

Are we even gonna score a mother fricking run all year long? I seriously don't believe we will.

They were boring last year. They were boring yesterday. Watching Yainer and Smith, in particular, yesterday was infuriating. They’re just up there swinging with no plan.
It’s just 1 game, but I hope the offense isn’t as bad as it was last year. Two hits in 6 innings against Jose Soriano and 3 overall. Woof.

You work on gif posting and I’ll work on nicknames for Cooper Hummel and Colton Gordon as two of our 2027 cornerstones.
