He will do everything in his power to get this program in the tournament every year. It doesn’t matter how much sacrifice. He loves this place and believes he can do it. I can’t ask for much more where the sport is considered third on the pecking order.

It’s quite interesting this is the only major sport where we haven’t won a championship at all.

One thing he did when he was here was the way he scheduled first part of the season. He scheduled teams that would help with metrics for post season play. Always considering teams that would be good Q1 or Q2 wins.

I just think Wade coming in with that NIL money we are promising is going to be a game changer. I will be surprised if we are not in the NCAA tourney year 1. He is going to have much more talent than he did even in his first run with us imo.

I have a breaking news flash that's gonna get a few of yall's panties all in a twist:

If Wade stays here more than 5 years, men's basketball will be 2nd in the pecking order at LSU. Everyone down vote away, but just wait and see.

Good?

College basketball is awesome. Nothing like picking your school to make a deep run when the brackets are released

They are second in the pecking order now claiming 15% of the revenue sharing only behind football. What the frick are you taking about?

Big Wade fan but that’s bold. I hope you’re right.

For me it’s always football, baseball, then basketball.

Make the tourney, I’m happy.
Sweet 16, hell yeah!
Final Four?! Stoked and wouldn’t even care if we got blown out

Fan base support, and it's ONLY because baseball is successful at LSU. When men's basketball is successful at LSU after a period of time, it will be 2nd on the totem pole amongst the fan base.

I remember 10-15 year stretch when men's was NUMBER ONE on the LSU campus.

If he brings in more talent than he had the first go around, we should win the Natty. One thing Wade did do while here was bring in talent. Some didn't always pan out, but we had NBA dudes.

Name 1 dude that has been at LSU last 4 years that would/has sniffed an NBA roster. Even with Johnny Jones we have dudes that made summer league rosters and played in league.

The biggest reason why McMahon wasn't successful was lack of talent and talent evaluation. This wont be a problem for WW.

Iowa is one win away from the Final Four with a first year HC and a roster of guys who had never played a minute of major conf. basketball before this year. Is that because they've just gotten remarkably lucky? Or is it because their new HC can flat out coach and he's proven it across multiple levels of competition.

LSU didn't have Arizona, Duke, or Michigan level talent under McMahon. But they sure as hell didn't have one-of-the-worst-major-conference programs in America talent either. Good coaches take mid-teir talent and get the sum of the parts to produce results well above the level of the individual pieces. Bad coaches take mid-tier talent and win 24% of their games against major conf. opponents.

It's total uninformed groupthink BS that McMahon was this great, or even good, coach who just couldn't recruit. Just like it's uninformed groupthink BS that Wade isn't a good coach. In reality, McMahon was a better recruiter than coach. LSU routinely had signing classes ranked in the top 25. Yet, they finished in the bottom 25 in results.

Against all odds Scott Woodward was able to find a guy with the charisma of Trent Johnson and the coaching ability of Johnny Jones.

I strongly but respectfully disagree. The biggest reason was because he was a terrible coach

The idea baseball will be left with nothing is crazy. There’s big money who will make sure Jay and the boys get plenty to make runs at Omaha.

You speak like this is a problem. This would be an ideal outcome that should accelerate and maximize revenue for new arena.

It was a spectacular time in the PMAC. And outside the PMAC too. When that building would get rocking with Tiger fans back in the 80’s and 90’s - let’s just say, it was electric. and LOUD. Like, loud enough to make your ears ring when Shaq would gorilla dunk on somebody. Or when Chris Jackson would light somebody up.
