Player’s Association gets about another 30 members paying into the kitty from this.

Current players get a chance at further longevity by having two more teams and a more diluted talent pool to buy them a few extra seasons of money.

The players are never going to get a direct cut of that money but let’s not pretend they aren’t seeing some of it indirectly.

The owners get 50% of the revenue. As it stands now, each team gets 1/30 of that 50%. So if they expand, they’ll only get 1/32 of that revenue. Expansion fee is to offset that loss.

The TV deals are locked in. That’s where the money is.

NBA players don't deserve anything extra - they're already dramatically overpaid.

What?

They're paid within the standard range of collectively-bargained revenue percentages across successful American sports (roughly 50% and changes with each CBA)

NFL: 48%
NBA: 51%
MLB: 47%
NHL: 50%

NBA players should get a higher percentage than in other sports because fans go to games specifically to see them… other sports are more driven by their team brands

Are you saying if you were in a position to potentially make more from your employer you wouldn’t want to?

But only certain players
so how do you decide which players get a cut and which players just survive on leftovers?

I’d love to survey people who actually bought NBA tickets this year to find out how many of them came to the game only to find out that player(s) was being “rested” that game. It’s a joke.

I don't care how much money another man makes - except for government employees.

But I can laugh at them.

I'm laughing at Josh Hart.
