When people are like "Why would these guys spend their money on this?!?" I don't think they realize how insignificant that is.

It's almost a rounding error to them. And presumably it's split up between more than 1 booster.

shite isn't a blip on their radar screens

Are you talking about someone who is "worth" $150k or someone that has $150k in their bank account?

% of net worth...

When talking about billionaires, it's not all liquid obviously, so I wanted to keep it apples to apples.

But most here are worth much more than $150k with house, etc. Just an illustrative comparison.

I am not super wealthy and have spent $1,200 on some dumb shite

Thanks for the explanation as if the "poor" folks don't have a calculator on their phone.

He asked a question and I answered it

Point of thread is just for fun and to illustrate how insignificant the McMahon buyout dollars are to a handful of LSU boosters that are very engaged in coaching decisions.

Anyways, carry on.

The difference is someone with $150,000 might have $150k in that in their bank account (they assuredly would have more than $1200). Someone worth $1B does not have $8MM in their bank account.

They are billionaires because they are smart enough to have their money make money for them.

If I were worth150k, I wouldn't be throwing away 1200 to buyout the mens basketball coach.

I can guarantee you that most billionaires have far more than 8 million of their assets being liquid. No they don't keep that much in a standard checking account, but it's still readily available to them in other accounts.

Yes, they have both liquidity and that liquidity making money for them.

The problem is that person who makes 150k is spending 8,400 on another buy out

Because we had 0 players on our roster and the program was in the crosshairs of the NCAA when they still had some (baby) teeth.

I’m worth more than that (like most ppl here over a certain age) and my wife would kick my arse if I spent $1,200 to buy out the basketball coach.

Football is another story. She’d tell me to swipe the card and don’t think twice.

It’s not apples to apples because the price of goods ABC and services doesn’t increase with your worth. Someone worth 150k spends 30% or more on just eating and having basic needs. 30% of a billion buys small islands or wnba teams
