Seems like the Ayatollahs are still in power and with more popular support than ever. Not sure how this is a win. More like a counterproductive waste of time, money, and lives.

As long as Iran still has a regime in place with a supreme leader, this war is far from “won”.
Trump has done a lot of good things but he also has a track record of talking out of his arse and saying a bunch of bullshite with no credibility whatsoever. He’s done it so many times this term.

What he says, and he's right to say it, is that they have free reign over Iran and Iran can't do a damn thing about it. The truth is there is no "war."
As far as the strait goes, let's wait and see what this present is he says the Iranians gave us. Just read that the royal Navy is going to be leading the mine sweeping efforts in the straight alongside the French. As he told these countries, if you have business in the strait, come secure it.
Nothing he is doing is suggesting anything other than what he said he was going to do. Destroy their capabilities and turn the country back over to its people. By every measure this has been a huge success and he did exactly what he said he was going to do.

No, winning is the cessation of hostilities with peace terms in our favor.

It isn't closed to traffic. There are tankers moving through, but slowly. They're having to detour around Larak island (sp?). I'm thinking because the entire area south of there has been laid with mines.

I think either: (a) we're talking with a puppet we want that has no control; or (b) more likely, messages are being conveyed through a mediator and something is lost in translation and/or each side is just picking what they want. Scahill has been talking to Iran and gave a great interview on this.
