I genuinely do not care about this. Pass a bill stating they can't directly invest in the stock market and can only be invested through blind trusts they can not directly control.

Civics Lesson - It needs to be passed in the House and then signed by Trump. Passing a Bill in the Senate means nothing for now.

It still must pass the House and be signed by the President. A note of interest, if it passes it will be in effect even after TSA funding is restored.

Therefore it will never pass the House.

Pretty sure DHS could issue guidance suspending this "rule"

House Republicans vowed to pass no Senate legislation until The Save America Act has passed the Senate.

There’s been much said about TSA lately and my experience has been the same as before the shut down. Maybe some airports are impacted but not the 6-8 I’ve flown out of since the shut down started.

I'm aware. I just think this may provide the necessary inconvenience that gets the house members to finally get off their butts and do their jobs.

If you really want to mess with Congress, screw up their travel plans.

This is one of the very few opportunities they have of experiencing what life is like for the rest of us.

And they don't like it.

Wait with the minions?

Watch things change.

Or they will call their friends with private jets.

Then they’ll just have their spouse or a family member invest for them

Since too many of them have the same ideology of terrorists, this makes sense.

They actually tried to exempt themselves from screening all together a few years ago by citing Article I, Section 6, Clause 1 of the Constitution. It says Senators and Representatives are “privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same,” except for “Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace.”

They tried to interpret "arrest" as any delay or impeding of their movements, to include security screening. Got shot down pretty quick by Boehner but kudos for out of the box thinking.
