I think dudes in hot water. UNC hasn’t really been the same since Roy Williams retired. The one good year Davis did have was immediately after Williams retired. Has been underperforming ever since

I don’t see how you don’t fire him. They’ve lost several games this way during the season. I just don’t know who you hire that’s better. There aren’t any UNC alum that are hot are rising coaching stars. They only hire UNC people.

I'm worried about Todd Golden leaving for UNC.

It’s crazy how many solid players for descent or good teams got arrested or hurt

DEI hire will be hard to fire TBH. Alabama beat them 2 years ago with inferior talent when UNC was a 1 seed. Something has to give.

He hasnt done anything without Roy's players. He's not Kenny Payne bad, but UNC has disappeared from the national stage the last 2-3 yrs.

Kinda gives me Bill Guthridge vibes. Replaced a legend, had some immediate success, but it has tapered. Guthridge did get that second F4 appearance to make up for a mid regular season.

He’s like Kevin Ollie.

Guthridge averaged a 27-9 record and went to two Final Fours. Roy Williams average record was also 27-9. It's giving me more Matt Doherty vibes(former UNC player who just isn't that guy) than anything.

they need to break free from that trend. Outside of maybe 3-4 coaches they can get anyone they want.

He certainly doesn't inspire confidence. He looks dumb.

Davis probably needs to go at this point, but he still wins like 70% of his games.

He could intentionally try to lose, and I still don't think he'd have an 8-win season at UNC like Doherty did. Doherty is in his own galaxy of suck.

He probably gets another year but definitely on the chopping block next year.

They need to get some new blood in there. Go all out Bucky or Golden.

To me, the part of the game the reflects the worst on him was UNC not being able to inbound the ball with under 30 seconds left with the lead. At that point UNC was up two, and VCU was going to foul.
Although they also didn't shoot free throws well, they were in a good position to win the game.
A prepared, organized team should not give the game away by not being able to inbound the ball.

I don't think he's dumb at all. Hubert wasn't a typical NBA guy. Don't think he went to clubs or hung out with other guys on the team when he played for the Mavs. Seemed quiet & kept to himself. He wasn't socially awkward, just not into hip hop culture like most NBA players were in the 90's. Dressed like he does now as a 56 year old man.

He was as nice a guy as you'd ever meet, His uncle, Walter Davis, was a 6-time NBA All Star. Maybe he wasn't as affected by the NBA money and fame because he saw his uncle go through it. Maybe he knew he was never going to be a star. He just seemed like one of the guys that had money after his career was over.

I’m not a huge fan of his but let’s not forget they were having a pretty solid top 15 season before they lost a top 3 player in Caleb Wilson and had already beaten Duke in Chapel Hill.

I mean you take a top 3 NBA guy like that off any team in the country and there is going to be a huge decline.

Not to mention they had a timeout and didn’t use it with 30 SECONDS LEFT in the game

he should

after losing at Miami, the local sports guys were talking about how all season they were ill prepared, played poorly, were just not coached well.
