Israel Is Hunting Down Iranian Regime Members in Their Hideouts, One by One

Ali Larijani, Iran’s top security official, strolled confidently in dark sunglasses and a black coat Friday through a rally of regime loyalists in central Tehran. It was his first public appearance in a war in which he was a known target. “Brave people. Brave officials. Brave leaders. This combination cannot be defeated,” he wrote later on X.
Four days later, he was dead. Early Tuesday morning, Israel’s intelligence services found Larijani gathered with other officials at a hideout on the outskirts of Tehran and killed him with a missile strike.
That same night, Israel got a tip from ordinary Iranians that the leader of the feared Basij militia, Gholamreza Soleimani, was holing up with his deputies in a tent in a wooded area in Tehran. It was the sort of payoff Israel had been hoping for after blowing up Basij headquarters and command posts for more than two weeks, forcing its members to gather out in the open. Soleimani, too, was struck and killed.
Israeli and American leaders said at the outset that the war with Iran would create the conditions for Iranians to topple their regime. The killings early Tuesday——followed by the Israeli announcement a day later that Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib had also been killed—were milestones in that campaign made possible by the fast-accumulating damage from airstrikes and a growing harvest of intelligence about possible targets.
Israel is creating a "SENSE" of disorder. It is taking hold and LOOKING GOOD!!
Imagine a chicken yard filled with chickens running around without their heads. That is the IRGC and any other "potential" Iranian leader. Now, you can go curl up in a fetal position while thumb sucking if this upsets you. Please try not to worry. It will be over soon enough. Then we may see about getting you the help needed.

These folks in the IRGC have nowhere to go. If they surrender, they will probably get dragged through the streets by the mobs of Iranian people who have suffered under this regime.

It’s a question of time, munitions and American resolve going into midterms vs the ability of the IRGC leadership to hold onto domestic control as their leadership is systematically assassinated.
If we win a war without ground troops against a regional power it will be a major turning point in military history.

You obviously do not understand the mission. It will be up to the Iranian people to take back their country. We should be out soon and moving on with an Iran that has no air force, navy, missiles, or missile launchers. In other words, no defense.

They have their entire ground forces which are untouched and will be fighting against a civilian insurgency without heavy armaments.
How does this result in anything but the people who would support us being wiped out?

I hope Bunk Mohammed Moreland is safe. We should pitch in and get him a plane ticket out of Teheran.

As Bessent says, people are starting to defect. What happens when the military commanders can no longer pay their troops, their leadership is destroyed, and the people, by and large, oppose the regime?
They'll end up joining the people.

As I said, maybe, but it would be the first time in history and will depend on how strong their leadership structures are, how long we are willing to stay and how much support among the people there actually is.
And it will absolutely require us arming the opposition or even with that initial “win” they’ll be liquidated as soon as we leave or just replaced by some other Shia faction who hate us just as much.
Israel is the only one who doesn’t care if they descend into chaos because that helps them regionally even if it hurts us long term.

He basically described a Coup...it's been done throughout history.

But have we accomplished regime change, a coup or just an assassination?
I’d argue the definition of a coup is:
Brittanica: coup
This is where the definitions matter because to me regime change would require a substantive change in terms of how a post ayatollah Iran is postured relative to America.
If whoever ends up running the ship after we’re done is neutral or positive to us that’s a substantive positive whereas if we just blow up some mullahs but other hard line mullahs take their place we didn’t really accomplish much.
So in the end so far all we’ve done is assassinate some people without it resulting in a coup or regime change based on my understanding of those terms.
I’d argue the definition of a coup is:
quote:
coup d’état, the sudden, violent overthrow of an existing government by a small group. The chief prerequisite for a coup is control of all or part of the armed forces, the police, and other military elements. Unlike a revolution, which is usually achieved by large numbers of people working for basic social, economic, and political change, a coup is a change in power from the top that merely results in the abrupt replacement of leading government personnel.

The people have phones and will call in the air support which will consist of those new technologies you have been hearing about and a couple of more that have not ever been used.
The IRGC will wilt like petunia drenched in salt water.
It Will Be GLORIOUS!!

If they surrender
If they surrender to US military forces, they will be treated fairly in accordance with international law. If they are taken by any other entity, they will probably be set on fire to burn to death right there on the spot.
They should choose wisely.
Also, those who defect to help the USA and help topple the Regime will receive special beneficial treatment for themselves and their loved ones, even a goat.

Maybe but how will we know which Iranians to trust? We might have to vet a few thousand good Iranians. That might be the way to do it.

Love or hate Israel, you don't want them (especially Mossad) against you.

Removing this regime built on a foundation of terrorism that was attempting to develop nuke technology is a huge burp from the belly regarding the world stage.

The US will hand the offenders back over to Iran and their courts just like Saddam

No one's really mentioning it, but Iran is/was a major uniparty money laundering mechanism. Trump keeps cutting the legs off of the globalist support network and a lot of the wailing you see here and elsewhere is disguised anguish over that fact.

It's (D)ifferent, that's really the only difference other than Iran having far more influence over our leftwing politicians and media machine than ISIS could ever hope for.

Can you even imagine the tech being used to find these frigs? The IRGC are probably paranoid of birds, rocks, and dragonflies by now.
Will their paranoia drive them insane?
