How many of your kids are you willing to let die from a nuke? Radiation poisoning? Radical, extreme Islamic terrorism?

Mobilizing a massive ground invasion would be one of the worst idea in history. This isn’t Iraq or Afghanistan. Our invasion force would likely need to be between 350-500,000

Those 2200 marines are going to be put into combat on the ground in the areas around the straight they’re dug into. Hope they get their combat action badges.

I’d bet my left nut we likely have all 3 special forces type Delta, Seals, and Green Berets in the country doing something or another and some of them most likely the Seals for obvious reason being navy and all will drop ship in to assist them.

If we want to take Kharg island we could mobilize a force of a few thousand and do that; but since no forces are moving there other than the MEU if we do plan to take it and control it one of the other special forces teams will likely do it. Probably Delta force.

That’s all you’re going to see as far as putting people on the ground, and yes some of those marines will almost certainly sadly be KIA and instead of respecting their sacrifice the enemies within will politicize it.

No it’s not, if I’m not willing to send my own children (or myself) to a conflict, how could I be okay sending someone else’s? It’s easy to act all horaah on an Internet forum where you’re not the one being targeted by drones or missiles. If we send in ground troops, countless numbers of young guys are going to get killed or maimed for Israel’s war. I wouldn’t want to lose my child fighting on behalf of Israel and I could never ask someone else to risk their child when I wouldn’t be willing to either.
