20-year-old University of Alabama student missing in Barcelona

Got separated from friends, and someone else found with his phone later. Sending prayers but arresting the guy with the phone is concerning.

A 20-year-old University of Alabama student from the Chicago area is missing from a spring break trip to visit friends studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, according to his family.
James "Jimmy" Gracey, of Elmhurst, Illinois, was last seen around 3 a.m. after visiting the waterfront Shoko restaurant and nightclub on March 17, his mother, Therese Gracey, wrote in a Facebook post.
"He was with friends, but they got separated at the end of the night," she added. "They’re all out looking for him."
Police have recovered his phone during the arrest of another individual, said Noreen Heron, a family spokesperson.
The younger Gracey never made it to the Airbnb at Ronda de Sant Pere, a central avenue in the city, that he'd rented with friends, according to the family. He went to Spain to visit friends who are studying abroad during spring break.

A body has been found at sea and it’s believed to be the body of Jimmy Gracey.

Prolly a third world “migrant” who was too dumb to realize that the phone would give his position away. This kid is prolly dead unfortunately. These European cities aren’t as safe as they used to be.

This happened to a relative of mine. He was in a major US city with friends. They went to a sporting event then to bars. His friends went home and he stayed behind to drink and seal the deal with a girl. He ended up dead on the sidewalk.

How do you get separated from friends? And if so it's good to know they don't give a shite. I guess they thought he would return when he returned. And there is probably more to this story anyway.

we were in Milan last month and we invited a young girl who is the grand daughter? of some people we know casually who is studying abroad in Milan, to go with us to Cortina, she went and didn't want to a ticket to the night event we were attending so she just went bar hopping, when the event was over she wasn't at the agreed on meeting spot to get on a bus to the train station, our daughter told us to go to the bus and she'd find her, she was pretty tipsy, and was with a group of guys that were just salivating, my daughter grabbed her and ran to the bus(last one of the night,) and barely made it, the girl was trying to hit up on a young guy sitting near us during the bus ride, smart kid, a young hottie too, about to finish up her IMBA, but I could see her disappearing into to the night like that

If times are local and the date was correct for the last time seen at 3am on the 17th it’s pushing around 40 hours Barcelona local time since last seen (like night out started on the 16th). If the mom was using 17th for when night started for them and was actually last seen at 3AM on the 18th (today) then it’s 16 hours local time since he was last seen.
I would think it’s the former, but I don’t really know. The dad has flown in and is helping to search.

nah, but we were up at 3am, flight home was delayed so we took a bunch of booze from the Iberia VIP lounge to the hotel and come to find out Iberia was comping all the food and drinks at the hotel, including the mini bar
