Is it championships or are we going to strive for strictly SEC competence and pay big time bills for it?

Expecting to make the NCAAT every year is acceptable

Will there be any Sweet 16 or Elite 8 runs?

None. If our administrators had any intention of firing literally the worst coach in the history of our basketball program, it would’ve happened. He’s staying another season to shave a few more million off his buyout.

LSU MBB has never won a championship, and I have no expectation of them ever winning one.

Will Wade was one of LSU’s best MBB coaches, but that’s not saying much

championships
he already has one of these. 2019 sec reg season champs

don’t think we’re realistically expecting any mbb coach at lsu to compete for nattys year after year

I'd be happy to get Wade back and my expectations would be to compete in the SEC, win the Conference once a decade and make it to the tournament at least 70% of the time.

LSU Basketball will never be LSU Football or Baseball, and I have accepted that, but I would love to love LSU Basketball again, and Wade would do that for me.

Wade's winning percentage of .673 is the highest for any LSU men's basketball coach since Tad Gormley (.694, 1921-23) and the second-highest behind Doc Stroud (.796, 1913-18, 1919-20) for any LSU men's basketball coach who stayed 4 years or more.

He also won 105 games in five seasons, more than Dale Brown (63 games), Harry Rabenhorst (48), John Brady (91) or Johnny Jones (90).

While LSU's history might suggest that's not saying much, in comparison to former LSU coaches it speaks volumes.

We expect to make the tournament maybe half the time and go on a run here and then. Those are legit expectations at LSU. He easily exceeds the first part of that.

It's not like he's incapable of making a deep run or with the right team one day maybe even winning it all. Keep getting to the tournament, good things will happen ultimately.

The same as he did when he was at LSU the first go-around and the same as he has done at NC State. What makes everyone think he would do anything special at LSU?

If he can't win big at NC State, he definitely can't win big at LSU. Sorry if that hurts some of you!

- Be within 3 games of 1st place in the SEC almost every year.
- Occasionally wining the SEC championahip
- Expect to be in the NCAA tournament every year.
- Occasionally make a deep tournament run where we are legitimate national championship contenders.

Wade has never accomplished this.

Although I am confident he can do this.

That's some hefty expectations - even for most SEC programs - outside of - Kentucky and maybe Florida - and you're expecting that out of LSU - a football and baseball school - good luck with that one.

Occasionally. Ok that's doable.

Also, doable......

This could be possible.

Will happen if the first one happens

He has been there one damn season, and instantly turned them around in that one season.

Look at what he did at McNeese, which is NEVER good in basketball.
