I believe 2026 is a revised model year.
Thank you.
Thank you.

The 2026 Honda Passport is actually getting really solid reviews overall—it’s a full redesign, and Honda leaned hard into making it more rugged and capable. Here’s a straight, no-BS breakdown so you can decide if it’s your kind of SUV.
?? Overall Take
Verdict: Very good all-around SUV, especially if you want a 2-row, V6, no-nonsense midsize SUV
Not flashy or sporty—but practical, durable, and capable
?? What’s Good
1. Legit upgrade for 2026
Fully redesigned (new generation)
Boxier, tougher look (more like a 4Runner/Bronco vibe)
More cargo room + rear legroom
?? This is a big step up from the older Passport, not just a facelift.
2. Strong, simple powertrain
3.5L V6 (~285 hp)
New 10-speed transmission
Standard AWD on all trims
?? No turbo, no hybrid—just a reliable, old-school setup (which a lot of people actually prefer).
3. Off-road capability (especially TrailSport)
Improved AWD with torque vectoring
Skid plates, all-terrain tires, drive modes
?? Not a hardcore rock crawler, but better than most crossovers
4. Interior space & comfort
Spacious 2-row layout (no cramped 3rd row)
Tons of cargo space
Simple, user-friendly layout
?? This is where Honda always wins—practicality
5. Ride quality
Smooth and quiet on-road
More refined than truck-based SUVs
?? Good balance: comfortable daily driver + weekend adventure
?? What’s Not So Great
1. Price is on the higher side
Roughly $46K–$54K
?? You’re paying close to 3-row SUV money for a 2-row
2. Fuel economy = just okay
Around 19–25 mpg
?? No hybrid option hurts compared to competitors
3. Not very exciting to drive
0–60 around 7+ seconds
More “solid” than “fun”
?? It’s not slow, but it’s not quick either
4. Interior isn’t flashy
Functional, but not luxury-level
Some reviewers say it lacks “wow factor”
?? Real-World Owner Feedback (Reddit vibe)
From actual drivers:
?? “Great for road trips and light off-road”
?? “Comfort and practicality are top-tier”
?? Complaints about MPG and price
?? Some say it feels a bit slow off the line
?? Who Should Buy It?
Great fit if you want:
A reliable V6 (no turbo/hybrid complexity)
A 2-row SUV with lots of space
Some off-road ability without going full Jeep/4Runner
A long-term daily driver
Maybe skip if you want:
Best gas mileage ? look at hybrids
Sporty performance
Luxury interior feel
?? Bottom Line
The 2026 Passport is one of the best “middle ground” SUVs right now:
?? More rugged than a CR-V
?? More practical than a 4Runner
?? Simpler and more reliable than turbo-heavy competitors
If you want, I can compare it to things like the 4Runner, Grand Cherokee, or Santa Fe—that’s really where the decision gets interesting.

I guess I'll google a pic for you...
Not a bad looking ride.
My wife and her family drive Honda's. CRVs, Pilots, etc.
They hold up with regular maintenance.

My wife has a 25 pilot Trailsport. It’s very similar to the passport. No complaints. We’ve enjoyed it and it rides great.

It's the new DOCH variety not the tried and proven VTEC model. Might be OK but not enough long term data on this version yet. Cam phaser, hydraulic lifter, and VCM issues don't tend to show up until you get closer to 6 digits on the Odometer.

I have on my wife’s Pilot Trailsport. Best AWD system in the industry. The new 10 speed is the same that’s in the pilot. It’s a little jerky at low speeds but overall fine.

You can turn this off I believe. At least you can with the older VTEC J's.

We went and looked at those and the Pilot for the Mrs. last week. Wasn't really blown away and felt a little overpriced. But it's hard to go wrong with a Honda as far as reliability, I wouldn't be concerned there.
They just look so much like the new Bronco sport. Like crazy how bad they ripped off it.

It’s basically a big Bronco Sport, except reliable because it has a Honda V6 and a ZF transmission. And it ride/handles well because it’s a Honda.
Not a bad vehicle at all. I hope the new Ridgeline adopts that styling.
