That's got Landry's slime all over it. frick him, Nungesser, and their MAGA dickriding to line their own pockets. Carbon capture and sequestration is some of the most bullshite pseudo science green energy crap that I've ever heard of. Just another way for grifters to get free money from the Feds.

Just a point of note, the Big Beautiful Big actually fortified the Biden Administration increased in the 45Q credits, so the Trump Administration may not be opposed to these projects.

Rep Letlow appears to be pro-carbon capture as well. Or at least neutral and not opposed to it.
The transport and pushing of CO2 into pore space actually has been done in the U.S. for decades, and done safely. Yes, there’s incident of the Denbury line rupturing, but there’s been oil and natural gas pipelines rupturing, even in some cases deaths involved, and I don’t think folks should suddenly be opposed to oil & gas pipelines.
The problem I have with these projects isn’t a concern over safety. I’m opposed because I hate the fact our tax dollars are funding the scam of needing to sequester CO2.

Billions of investment and capital projects will collapse like a house of cards if carbon capture falls through.
CF Blue expansion; Hyundai Steel (and proposed neighboring DRI facility); Nucor Steel (another DRI facility); Air Products; Clean Hydrogen Works; Southern Energy Renewables (new $1.4B jet fuel/methanol plant).
The politicians in power and big money need it; so the average citizen's thoughts and concerns don't matter.

Because without capturing and sequestering the excess CO2; Blue Ammonia and Green Hydrogen don't work.
I was incorrect about the Southern Energy Renewables facility; CO2 is a feedstock for Green Methanol.

I believe Exxon is the biggest pusher here in LA. They stand to make a fortune and have whole division devoted to this. Trump is probably doing them a favor as well as 3/4ths of congress being paid by their lobbyists.
Landry desperately needs this to attract industry. Letlow will do as she is told.

He posted a video an hour or so ago with him sitting at his Governor’s desk attacking Fleming for not being truthful about his anti-CCSU stance. Claims Fleming voted six times to expand it.
Which, to be honest, wouldn’t surprise me. All these assholes are liars. Just gotta pick the one who lies the least, or will steal the least amount of tax dollars.
