Does no one make a basic arse, no frills microwave anymore? I don't need an air fryer built in, I don't need wifi hands-free operation, I don't need a self-cleaning steam function. I'm trying to find a plain ole "type in the time and press start" microwave with a handle on the door. Even some of the ones with handles now have some frickin safety trigger on it. Are these reasonable expectations? Do I just have some kind of turbo autism?

You are obviously not trying very hard. Google is your friend.

Just heat up your nuggets from the app baw. You can probably watch on the in-mcwave cam from the couch.

Quit shopping at Williams Sonoma and go to Walmart.

It's not just microwaves. All appliance manufacturers are trying to increase their margins by loading products up with stuff we don't really want. "Premium Features", etc. Try buying a TV without "smart" in it. You still can, but you have to look harder for it, there are fewer of them available, and manufacturers are pricing them the same or more than the stuff pre-loaded with annoying "smart" operating systems that you can't control. Roku is working with TV brands on slipping in more advertising that you can't block from your own TV.

Google Gemini is the best for anything like that. Tell Gemini what you're looking for, and then copy/paste the best answer into an Amazon search bar.

That’s because your data is valuable.

You are continually one of the dumbest sonsofbitches to post on this board.

What about OPs post made you think, "Now HERE'S a guy who's SURE to want to use AI"...?

There’s an entire Amazon category called Basic Microwaves. A quick scroll showed several <$100

Mine is a basic Hamilton Beach from Walmart. It’s a few years old so don’t know if the model has changed.

I have a built in that needs replacing and I'm having a difficult time finding one I can insert into the old cover.

All the ones I'm finding are either too wide or too tall.

And you like to act like a little attention whore on a message board, so neither one of us is perfect, I guess.

We own an Amana microwave that’s 40+ years old. Works like a charm and heavy as a boat anchor. All manual dials and the ringer is an actual bell.

The last time I was looking for a basic microwave, I ended up settling for a $700 above-the-range model! It turned out to be nice…but I was pissed for a while!

I felt that way wanting an air fryer that wasn't digital.

I found one on Amazon, made for markets south of the Border, with instructions in Spanish and for a better price and no digital anything. Just two knobs and a bell.
